i have been waiting for the essence of pearl from early yesterday i have tried to buy them but no joy and so far i think we have seen 4 thats enough to make 4 parts when its a 3 part set i dont think we will see a lot of those sets anytime soon but they should have more of a ratio 1 component at least to every recipe. but thats womething we can speak to grim bout on friday when he gets back
You actually need 5 essence of pearls to make the set, the ring uses 1, the gloves and shield use 2 each.

Are you all happy with the changes to the arena? Any problems?
So far its going well, however it is going to need some "babysitting" to remain a dynamic part of the game. For the first 2 days it makes sense for more recipes to be about, after a point though we would like to see components more often, even if one cant get a recipe there will definitely be someone he know to invent for him..
I am also curious to see how older and newer Arena LE's will coexist in tournamnets, they are so many that inventing of all of them(and obtaining Crystalline sets) will slow down considerably .

Is that a bad thing?
Having a load of the new sets into the game at the beginning is great, but then having having things slow down I think is a good idea, it will limit the amount of sets/items coming into but they will still be available to get if you're patient.
That has always been an issue with items in the arena in the past, there have simply been too many of them, with the current amount of new and old items, it will control the flow much better.

Nope, not a bad thing at all
It will just generate complaints. Ther are already a lot of them about the amount of components for sets like Bhaltairs.. But for the arena itself its a positive feature, tournaments will be highly sought after, drops will sell for more

Thats the thing...if its managed well ie. fewer recipe tournaments and more component tournaments with rotation of all sets before starting the cycle again, it would work pretty well in my view.

Additionally, I'm curious - Forn stated after balaurs was released that no old LE's would grace the caves for a long time....I see serious, maybe completely total, shortages of things like reborn frost axes and armor, reborn leaf gloves, and the like, without SOME entrance of these items into the game; while we all wanted more LE and SE items used to make this stuff, but I don't think we realized just how FAST it was all going to get consumed...
I think this will put a good limiting factor on how many of these sets get churned out (and thus protect their value) but here's my main question - what, if anything, is HCS planning to keep the flow of these items into the game at any pace in the long term?

There is a Greek proverb that in English would go like this : "You cant both feed the dog and keep the pie intact"
If we want Legendary items to stay that way and hold a value the flow has to be very limited..we experience at every scavenging event a huge flood of items that drops prices in AH and makes the items of very low value..Now it actually means something to own Reborn Frost, Regorn Guardian or any other items..
Perhaps they could appear in the form of legendary quests that would reward everyone with a full set?

for heavens sake make the component tourneys 16 players. This is ridiculous.
Absolutely agree, components for these new recipes MUST be 16 players, they are filling up way too fast, and they must be harder to win, since they are more valuable, particularly the high level components.
Other than that, Forn, to answer your question, yes, happy with most of the changes, but the previous wave of recipe components definitely need to be brought back, especially components for Ormarr's, Brice's, Bhaltair's and Ivars at the very least. I wouldn't mind the occasional Steamwork Cuirass component thrown in as well.

For the Hondos Neckpiece you need a Xinderoths Rune of Protection, but thats actually a quest reward. Is this a miss by BG or is it supposed to be that way?
Damn and Blast! I'll have to look at that!
*Edit*
Fixed.

I'm curious as to if player would prefer the older Recipes being tweaked to be similar to these newer ones?
I can lower the Weight of the Recipes themselves in Admin, giving the Components a better chance to spawn.
