This, lol.

Hey max! If titan items have to be worthwhile, how come the mace BLOWS....and the Cows have declined to fix it?

Sometimes I think the itemization team's main tool is a dart board.

The mace was a good one until the lvl 700 Blade of Fire, which is itself a Titan item :)

It doesn't change the fact that it's currently worthless.

The Squid drop is not overwhelming in leveling therefore, by default, it should make a difference in another area of the game to motivate hunters..Thats the Arena, and secondarily GvG ( very long-term). If even now people see no reason to come hunt a Titan, when will they?

The Squid could be just for medal purposes, and people would still hunt it...just like the Colossus.

Not saying I want the drop nerfed that hard, or even nerfed, but the fact that the Colossus does die proves that someone, somewhere, will kill the Squid

well, they should use that motivation model to force people PvPing, what's so special in Titan Hunting, never liked it and don't understand why it should be profitable while other game activities like PvP are not. So let's add some overpowered items for doing hardcore PvP, and if people see no reason to lose their hard earned levels, when will they?

It might surprise you but i totally agree..Hardcore PvPers that spend thousands of stamina and a lot of efforts in conducting PvP every day are on the receiving end of XP losses, insults, gold sinking, unfair/inexistent rewarding systems and generally nothing close to what hardcore GvGers/Titan hunters/Levelers/Arena players enjoy..Rather striking imbalance considering PvP-oriented players far outnumber leveling-oriented ones (proof : Sigma that is a non-PvP game is too "quiet").

The game will be better off if its players were all-rounded in their activities..Better appreciation, better perception of various aspects and definitely better attitude and ability to offer feedback on various issues.

The issue of item stats has been raised for a few months now, i have come to accept the fact such an item enters the game every so often because it is purposely done so..I doubt devs do not know what they are adding..We are not given the full explanation(i.e. Colossus Mace vs Elemental Blade of Fire, Water Trident vs Man of War Sword) but ignorance cannot be the only plausible reason.

The big debate here is whether a 'reward' for doing something is necessary or not.

I enjoy levelling because I appreciate seeing myself grow into new gear and buffs, and I get a nice number attached to my profile for doing so. I like that, and there is nothing similar for PvP right now.

That being said, I do agree with the general sentiment that a well rounded game is much more fun than a one dimensional one. I would love to engage in a little PvP but it is pretty much mutually exclusive with levelling in the eyes of many.

The Arena and Titans both provide better gear (in general) than levelling does, perhaps as an encouragement to get more players involved with them. Since PvP is hardwired into the game itself I don't think that HCS felt it necessary to include such an incentive.

The biggest thing for me would be for HCS to fix the ladder so it truly represents who does and does not PvP. That, I feel, would be a nice reward for those active PvPers. If any of you are like me then seeing a number rise as a result of you doing something is a lovely feeling! However, I'm not entirely sure where these 'overpowered' items would come from. One area which could be looked at would be RP rewards which were crystalline PvP-oriented sets. Put the PvP back in GvG and reduce the amount of farming.

Simples.

Want to make pvp give rewards?

Give components for successfully killing players off the board. The more stam you use, the higher the chance a player will drop something.

If it's done purposely, I have to say that business model is wrong, when I am forced to buy one item to compete in the arena, I will simply quit the arena, however, if I see that I can design a great strategy out of existing Common items I will donate and hell forge those items. This is what really happened, when I found value in Common items I fully forged few hundreds items for the arena... That was huge FSPs and gold sink comparing to what one uber Epic will ever do.

It is not necessary. Glory is rewarding enough.

The more stam you use killing the members of top guilds the higher the chance a player will drop something ;)

very interesting things said here by gravely, avvakum, maximus and rjem.

Just allow me to go back to arena:

december set components please ?? this is getting like a farse now, many 15minute spawns in arena have not a single component.
december crysts please?? Will HCS act when Luks Set is more expensive than Kardiac helm? place your bids peeps :P

EDIT: I simply can“t see how gear devs are planning , checking and releasing some of the latest "omg what is this OP item" on purpose. I think its more the dart board method.

well, if idea was to motivate hunters, so people had reason to come hunt a Titan, then where is it? Your reasoning means something only if there is Titan to kill in the game, no? ;)

There were Titans to be killed..2 of them,so that most of those that finished quests fast could be happy.. ;) The drop being won was a display of forward planning that all but 1 guild were lacking at ;)

The waiting for the next spawns may have an explanation..

How long would the quest take to be completed for a 50 stam/hour player level 60+ that cannot afford to buy the drops or FI 1K? ;) The more we wait the more people will be in a position to kill the Titan. Fairness :P

Fairness would be if you had to hunt that Titan wearing 60 lvl items only :P
