Just want to bring this back a little bit to the original suggestion.

We've had conflicts now with a guild in the top listings on the GvG ladder twice in the last week. Normally we have no problems with any conflict, but one of the main things bothering me in this instance is the fact that this guild goes offline entirely in suicide suits.

Basically, at the 350 level range, the 415-425 level range, and several other ranges, it's possible to build a 3 set suicide suit that CANNOT be successfully cleared 50 times, assuming four basic buffs: KE, shatter, dark curse, and last ditch.

Right now it's possible for initiating guilds to start a conflict against a guild with few or no members online, get their hits in versus unbuffed or weak targets, then swap to suicide suits, get deflected and then buff whenever they see hits start to come in, ESPECIALLY if they're a smaller guild.

Con400, Terrorize 250, Sanctuary300 or several of the other proposed potions would go a LONG way towards addressing this.


Isn't this called tactics?


All tactics should be beatable. The problem becomes introducing tactics without holes.

Please explain the "tactics" involved in equipping a suit that cannot be successfully covered. If it doesn't have a counter, then by definition there is not a "tactic" to beat it with.

It wins, thats the Tactic.

The initiating Guild always has the advantage as they have the element of surprise and prior planning. Show me some stats of these Suicide set-ups and we can see if they can be beaten.

Cant it be beaten by casting NMV 175 on their offline people?

In some cases, yes; however, doing that to my offline suit, for example, would only make things worse, not better. I had that happen a time or two, and adjusted things accordingly.

EDIT: And honestly, max, due to some of the extreme distaste that generates in the FS community, I'd rather have a buff I can cast on myself or a potion I can drink rather than be accused of "sabotaging" someone else's setup.

Having gone through this via PM it has become pretty obvious to me just how broken GvG can be.

There should never be the opportunity for a Guild to get a "Guaranteed" win. The situation that Gravely explains above certainly does grant the initiating Guild such a win.

Const400, Terrorize250 and Sanc300 will go a long way towards making sure things become more even, and that there are no Guaranteed wins.

Yeap, i saw that too. The thing is that when balance is thrown off and more powerful potions are added to restore it, there will be something else balance will be broken..Imagine Despair Crystal with these 3 accesible to the lead defender for example?

Yep, the fact that they are obtained with AT and are potions, means that their uses are limited so it shouldn't affect Relic defending.

I'm sure there's plenty out there that'll pay a good price not to have to empty their BP every 2 minutes

This is an interesting idea. Would work as one of the new 900 buffs too. It is this kind of thing that we need, not more buffs/pots that add stats but ones that work on different aspects of the game.

If you want a new asspect , how about:

Posse:( for a lack of a better name )
Description: for each 50 points allocated you can hire 1 merc for your personal group [level 1-50 defualt is 2 mercs ]
Note that the cost to search for a merc ( while the buff is active ) is 10Xplayer level , and the cost to hire is 50%

stamina: 35

Duration: 60 minutes


This will allow solo players to use personal gourps, and will sink some gold ^^

How about jsut getting a group and setting your level requirement for it so high that none of your guildies can join?

Doesnt that make a "personal group" of one sort already?
