you have to understand that the quest was never intended to be as easy as it was. Its like giving away an EPIC item for a normal quest reward. Hence the changes and also the item changes.

The game mechanics are complex, flooding the game with epic items was not intended. I mean if we did a roll-back you would loose it all - would you rather have the epic items or loose it altogether? :D

So take it out on your QA department and/or whoever green-lighted this release, not your customers.

Also, how many people are likely to be buying the epics in this next week when they know it'll be bound, and they'll have to discard it when they get the next one, losing the FSP they spend buying, crafting and forging it?

Not to mention that they'll be able to get a much, much improved one for free with some hard work.

If you are at or near level 500 (for example) - it is WELL worth buying the Elemental Trident, even if you throw it away a couple hundred levels later. You can build a better setup with that trident than the bladed war gauntlets.

I LIKE my flamey blade - even if someone else can get a better one.

And I did go through and make my own runes and such for that quest, got all the drops myself to get into the realm, etc. :D

All HCS staff have left the forums!

Oh for the love of god this game is being ruined one lousy, rushed, unplanned and thought through update at a time.

HCS,

You messed up. Big. Please stop with your knee-jerk reactions. [...]

2.) Merge the old Epic items with the new ones to where there are not two versions and leave the quest in its new stage to keep the flood gate closed. The people who got through in the first 24hrs will be lucky. But, it was your mistake afterall.

Rollback would be easiest way but alot of frustration would be involved...
But if we merge the items to the new quest, those who crafted and forged their item will have done it for absolutely nothing.

I dont mind having Crafted (Twice) and forged my Spear for no reason.. As long as I can do the new quest to get the new Item...

Also No Rollbacks please there are so many better solutions here than a rollback!

Best solution: New quest, turn in your bound epic and kill the titan X time to get your reborn epic. hoarders can't invent multiples, people have the option to complete the more difficult quest for the more difficult item.

That would make it more equal for every one. Those doing the quests we did can get the 'un-crafted' weapon, and have the possibility over time to craft it with a new quest, killing 2700 titans or whatever. This would make for real Epic, unbound, items

Just make forgings and Crafting remain once the item is upgraded.

I still think they should at least give us the opportunity to do the new quest...

Hell, block the old quest, make it as a new quest entirely, and make a side quest that you can only do if you did the original that's slightly easier. At least that way people who did the old quest can have a chance to get the new item, and the work they did for the first one doesn't go to waste. And making the epic from the first version of the quest wouldn't be to bad of an idea. At least they'll have some use for this, and people who got them just to sell won't have made an unnecessary profit.

I may not be great, but it wasn't exactly easy for me to the first one. A few higher levels in my guild were buffing/grouping with me just so I could do some parts, and I still ended up having to buy some of the stuff. Even if the new quest is considerably harder, we still did SOME work to get the old one, and a decent, bound item isn't exactly worth the trouble, even if some people do say it was "too easy."

That would be fair sollimaw!

HCS,

You messed up. Big. Please stop with your knee-jerk reactions. The flood gate is closed for the new Epic items and you now have a few options that have been said in here.

1.) Rollback. It sucks, no one likes them. But it is the only way to restore everyone to an equal standing.

2.) Merge the old Epic items with the new ones to where there are not two versions and leave the quest in its new stage to keep the flood gate closed. The people who got through in the first 24hrs will be lucky. But, it was your mistake afterall.

3.) A quest to update the old Epic item into the new. Too many people have sold their items. This will only create more chaos.

My vote is option 2. This is YOUR mistake. Do not punish us for it by making us replay our last 24hrs or screwing over people who have already bought/sold/upgrade the items.

Option 2 is the best choice. No Rollbacks.

This!

Forn and the other guy should do NOTHING! Wait for the big guy to come and fix this mess. Hoof should be the ONLY one that can greenlight this kind of thing anyway.

so again I ask, what about all those people who paid out the whazoo for inferior versions? And a rollback would hurt you??only if you are one of the ones profitting from this mistake. Such objections can only come from those who Did make out like bandits and don't want to see their windfalls go down the drain even though someone has suffered because of it. How about putting greed to the side and permitting them to follow the only course that will be fair to all. With a rollback everyone has what the had before hand, no loss from forging crappy items, no potions wasted, nothing, nada.

There is absolutely no way that an individual player will be able to kill 2700 titans to complete a quest.

this will take MONTHS, and in months, alot of people can do like 200 levels, making the completion of the quest worthless...

This is really not something i see any other player doing, except those that do titan hunting for a living?

You really need to rethink this carefully.

Alot of people have already complained about the nr of times you need to kill the titans... Now imagen the lagg?

Yesterday it took me at least 30min to kill 1 titan... how long will it take if it's mandatory for everyone to kill so many titans?

Yesterday alot of people just killed it once, finished the quest and moved on! Now to have to sit in that map for MONTHS hoping that the titans will come out and you will get kills?

I understand that it's an EPIC item, and the quest should be really hard to do, but that is just rediculous...

But oh well, i have done the old quest, and so far, as i understand, will not be able to do the new quest at all. But please take a look at the way this quest is completed.

90% of the players playing the game can not afford to buy epics for them self, and this was a great opportunity for those players to have their very OWN epic... however... now you want to change it so that only the fast connections will still be able to do the titans? that is just a joke to me.

Way back then our guild did win a titan item... took hours and lots of stam... after that no matter how hard we tried we could not win...

And now to say that the same mindset will apply to completing these quests will just stop the majority (those 90% not doing titans anyway) to even give it a shot... leaving the EPICS once again to the big guilds with the fast connections who LIVE for titan hunting and that alone.

That is just WRONG!!!!

The steps to this Epic downfall--First Epic foolishness- Epic items that were so easy to get that everyone owned them (if they require 700 kills not 2700 that's better. at least the item will become EPIC ) . Second - The epic Lag . Third - The epic chaos through stupid changes and finally The fourth - The epic negligence that we are facing now.

make a new quest where the reward is a recipe to upgrade our current epics to the new super stated ones.

I think this is a good idea. That way those of us who have already completed quests can decide for ourselves if we want to upgrade our spoils.

Virtually yours,

I lose nothing from a rollback except some stamina gain, which would be refunded by reserve stamina. Rollbacks always have lots of other consequences.

NO rollback. Several exceptionally good suggestions have been made that correct the issues without one
