1. Rollback (yeah I know, but it's the only fair and sensible thing to do)
2. Epic item is bound, nothing else is (because killing the titan is epic enough)
3. Move the titans into the 4 corresponding realms which are smaller
4. Give the quests level restrictions, that way I can not hunt the smaller titans (not sure why I would want to given that the items are bound)
5. Find a reasonable number of kills (Hey I don't have all the answers). Is 2700 too much? I don't know. If the titan was moved to the smaller realm it would be easier. If only the level 100-299 players were killing it, it would be easier. Is it still a lot? Yes, but it should be epic (not 3+ month epic though).
6. The titans should not even have HP (or a huge amount) so you can be sure there is always one available to be killed for the quest.

Let's all be honest. An epic item should require an epic quest. 1 kill is not epic.

The reward should be bound so that players less than level 100 will have to complete the quest and can not just buy it in the AH. If people want to upgrade their weapon when reach 300, 500 or 700, they can.

This is what I think should happen, but I know it won't. It was therapeutic to post this though

I think at this point, a combination of #3/4/5 is the best solution to satisfy most of the parties involved.

Rollback would be too late come monday.

Better late then never

Seriously though, I know it would stink (to say the least) but it really would fix the 'epic' mess. The cows biggest problem is how to fix their angry customers. They are in a Catch-22 there.

That's true. Sometimes it takes a drastic measure to restore the faith of their customers.

I dont like the idea of a roll back; I never like the idea even when it is for a much better reason - like Panic's recent woes.

I think all the items ought to be bound except the final reward.
Moving them might be a good idea - not sure really but it sure isn't a deal breaker to me.
Make the titan kills not count against medal and not provide any reward other than what the person with the quest gets.
I agree on the reasonable number of kills but of course make sure they don't have to happen against the same titan. i.e one can die and another be born and the kils for both count to whatever the right number is.
I agree - either huge number or near immediate re-spawn.

Keeping the stones, fragments, masks, recipes, and runes bound means that people have to go through the whole quest and can't just buy an aether stone and bypass almost all of it. It is the quest which is epic, not the titan killing, remember?

If the titan kill doesn't count for anyone other than the quest-doer, I can't imagine why anyone else would attack them.

As for reasonable number of kills, I don't think a number in the thousands is right - especially if everyone has to do all the steps - but I admit to not knowing what would be right. 1000?
I wouldn't want it to be higher, I think.

For future reference, please test it out with the equivalent of a beta test group. At least lay out the plan here and let people comment before it is put in place.

I still truly, honestly believe that the only thing that can fix this pile of crap that we're calling an update is a rollback. It sucks, but there it is.

have the titans permanently in each of the room. keep it at 2700. but if it is there permanently(or 1mil life), it would be ok in small room. take about 10k energ to finish. and since it does not die, no rp point.

Rollback is nessesary at this point .. no reason everyone that didnt do the the quests yesterday should have to kill the Titans 2700 times when others got it for 1 kill period.

What's epic, exactly, about shooting fish in a barrel?

Let's hope we can keep the flames out and actually have a constructive discussion on solutions for this so the cows can come see on monday. :D

1. Rollback (yeah I know, but it's the only fair and sensible thing to do)

Definitely won't happen. but would solve a few things, and of course cause more uproar.

2. Epic item is bound, nothing else is (because killing the titan is epic enough)

Excellent solution, would again create insane uproar, mostly from the same group of people that would yell about #1.

3. Move the titans into the 4 corresponding realms which are smaller

This would be pretty awesome.

4. Give the quests level restrictions, that way I can not hunt the smaller titans (not sure why I would want to given that the items are bound)

This won't happen. Anyone who has leveled past the lower levels has earned the right to take part in the quest. If the items were bound it wouldn't matter as you pointed out.

I'd say the kills should be in line with the level. 100 kills for level 100, 300 for level 300 etc.

6. The titans should not even have HP (or a huge amount) so you can be sure there is always one available to be killed for the quest.

I thought this would be a viable option as well. No waiting for the impatient, and no more complaining about how guilds that win get nothing. I suspect a new creature type will have to be made for this though...someone mentioned "Elementals" in a different thread, and I think these titans could be changed and called "Elementals". Then there is no need to change how titans work, they could be worked to spawn like Champions or even Elites, with 5 in each smaller realm that are instant respawn.

2. Epic item is bound, nothing else is (because killing the titan is epic enough)

Excellent solution.

NOTHING in the game that is equipable with stats is bound. Might as well take away guild tagging and make every single piece in the game bound, ruining the merchant aspect of the game.

Plus people who sold theirs have no way of getting them back. So number 2 is moot.

I think number 5 is how this should be tackled, along with bound quest items

This is the first epic quest, so why not introduce the first bound equipable item :P

Unless you role back to erase the gain/lose that resulted from people selling theirs.

You must work for a news organization...considering you completely cut out the part where I say it would be a bad idea. There, should have fixed it...at least in this quote.

the system works perfect as it is now. i really look forward for any new epic quests in the future that will follow this system. 100 kills for an epic is far too little, no reason to even scale kills required because of level. they are epic and shouldn't be as easily obtained.

Its too late. Numerous changes have already occurred and when the dust has settled there will be some winners and losers. This is how it has always been with HCS games. Many times poor planning creates these divisions. Many things in the game remain broken. Why should this "debacle" be any different. At least they have made the Epic quest NOW actually epic.
