500 kills per element titan is better, though maybe a little too low now.. So please do not remove kill counts for medals or RP rewards from them.

I don't really mind them being the way they are. Epics are epics (these are some of the best in the game) and if you're in a hurry of getting one right away, do what you would for a SE set. Or simply use something else.. The competition to get the required kills is what makes you deserve the epic. If most of their titan-ic qualities are removed, the titans are not useful for anything else but questing, and with 500 kills I think the level 700 blade will flood the market just as the rest of them pretty soon.

But please: Make sure the other titans are still "worth" hunting so the reward for slaying the elements arent more attractive than slaying the other titans.

yeah i guess having no one wanting to go after the titan for any reason but the quest reward would be best, i mean no competition at all when you want to start is best, right?? yeah, lets have the prices of these back to 25 FSP....

they are titans, and should be treated as such if they want to carry the name, RP for 2,nd through fifth, and a prize for first, otherwise, lets just call them elites, huh?


and this change is another fine example of why no one should believe what they see in the news, was what, 1 business day after the post that no new changes to these items will be made. wow, made it a whole 4 or 5 hours before listening to the complain gang on the forums before wussifying all the quests, and why aren't they going up in increnents like they used to?? 500 kills? not very much. i have to applaud the community as a whole here, you will be able to get your epic items a lot easier now, but fortunatly, they won't be worth much.. and as a whole it's good to know that when administration says no further changes will be made, that it means untill next business day..

I think that the players and HCS should take a little step back from this for a while. People have plundered, bought, crafted & forged the epics and invested in other items that work around them for hunting, the arena, etc. And sold off other items that were superseded by the new epics.

The main problem is that too many epics flooded onto the market....and are flooding back off it again as I type. The damage is done. Fingers crossed someone will have bought a couple of my epics when I check in a sec ;)

Hopefully this won't happen again...and that when new epic goodies appear they will be very difficult to get hold of...be it through titans or whatever other way Hoof and the team may have planned.

I still have to do the Element of Air quest and, to be honest, the main reason will be for the excitement of competition with other hunters and GRP for the Guild.

Maybe I can chase around after Mr Doom's shadow again while tag-teaming in and out of smoke breaks!

One question, Grendel - why should players who either paid several thousand FSP for a mace, a similar sum for the sword, or who made the stamina investments in GvG or titan hunting to procure the same be forced to spend a similarly large chunk of time and effort to get an item that should already be useful?

Please just alter the stats, one way or the other.

The hammer might be something that could be resunk into another inventing recipe or quest - but it's a fraction of the cost to build or buy a hammer, and the hammer has been in the game a LOT longer than the higher level items.

this was said in a earlier thread as a response to this "Bleh, another one with lv 100 min to do anything. Am I not EPIC enough for the EPIC QUEST?"

well something to do while they aren't farming plants, sitting on potion shops etc etc, maybe you are right, need to have more for the multi's to do also, don't want to be discrimanate towards them ;)

I dont see a game problem with competition. I do see a game problem in even more flooding of superduper epics in the game.

Therefore, please consider implementing one of the following changes:

1. Resetting all current quest epics to their pre-Reborn values

2. Altering the stats on the Blue Man of War Sword and the Mace of the Colossus to bring them more into line with current epic itemization

3. scrapping the Mace of the Colossus entirely and creating a new epic drop for the Gurgriss titan, which current owners of the Mace could send tickets in and have exchanged for.



1. Too much has been invested in buying/crafting/forging them and planning leveling setups around them as mentioned above, its too late for that to change now.

2. Both the Epic Mace and the Blue Sword look fine, one is a result of a team effort inferior to what it takes to solo 500 Elemental Titans for most Titan hunters, so the reward should be inferior. Also, the Blue Sword price took a big cut, hopefully it will take down other GvG Epics with it to a more realistic proportion of how easy it is for guilds to have access to them via GvG..(and its still a good arena item)

3. Not all titan drops should be the "best" leveling items ;)

That's exactly it KJ...competition and a REAL challenge are key to keeping the game interesting for me. I spent months of my gaming life trying to get together the components for the WW....nearly had a heart attack when I clicked on invent. But the sense of satisfaction and achievement when I put on the WW made it all worthwhile. And kept me coming back to FS for more...

I have my own thought on the changes on the epic quest... it seems to me that killing 500 titans is still way too much... In order to kill the titan I did kill (I was fortunate enough to complete the first two quests on Friday) I had to create a group... and I imagine it will be the same for most of the people going after the titan for the quest.. then you also have to deal with the guilds going after the titans like clockwork as well... I really dont think anyone should have to kill more than 5 titans... they could kill 20 - 25 champs and 25 of the creatures in the area with the champions.. and 25 or so creatures in the main area where e1 first come in.. If your going to make it that many titan kills you should make it that many titan kills in general and not just the earth, water, fire, or air titan.. granted you should be required to kill a certain amount of those but no more than 5 ... 10 at the most.. because thats too much.... :cry:

Bringing the numbers down is fine, but I find there should have still been increments to the different levels.

It's far easier to get 500 kills off the Water Titan, with 7.5k HP and few people hunting it, then it is to get them off the Earth or Air titan.

Would be good to think about that for future Epic quests, and please get someone to test them, as I never even needed the rune to go hit the scout, even if I did invent it afterwards.

To '1.' ... Who knows, they've proven to change things a lot before so they will probably change their stats for like the 3rd time. As long as they P as many people off as possible then they dont mind.

This whole update has been an 'EPIC FAILURE' and they promised that they would not be changing anything else but they just did then.

you shouldn't have to create a group to kill the air titan, you probably can't use your normal hunting gear, but it should be pretty easy for a level 300 player to get a setup with 2.4k defense, 1.5k attack and enough damage to kill the titan in a few hits

Yes, I agree that 500 is better than 2700 as I said from the very beginning. HOWEVER... you stated multiple times that nothing was going to be changed so I bought some air javelins with the intent to resell them later for profit. Now I'll lose quite a bit from that investment. Please don't state over and over again that you're not going to change something and then turn around and change it!!

Well done, HCS. Doesn't completely make up for the nightmare that was this quest, but now makes it more than attainable by the average player, while still being somewhat difficult. I am now looking forward to doing the level 500 quest once I reach that level. Thank you for compromising, I know that this was not an easy decision, but I think it's for the best.
