Flinch not working properly?

Yes, but irrelevant. I and several others have tested to prove that KE affects nightmare repeatedly, and all of us have discovered that to be the case.

yes! In GvG when i attack someone with nightmare it always works?

Not sure, but I know I did.


Duelist only increases attack/damage not defense. With 100% duelist, it adds around 10% more attack (3300) and your defense after DC225 would be equal to 3300. So it could be that.

Duelist is a PvP enhancement and shouldn't effect you vs. mobs. That said it wouldn't be the first time a mob had a PvP enhancement like breaker and it did work against you. I don't believe deulist or any other PvP type enhancement are the cause of this new discrepancy. This is clearly a problem that has arisen in constitution or flinch or both. Why? No clue...

Duelist is a PvP enhancement and shouldn't effect you vs. mobs.


Gravely situation is player based not creature.

Ok missed that, but the problem exists against mobs also so there is a problem with one or more skills working wrong. It changes a major mechanic of how the game is played for all.

The issue is they hit me, not vice versa. Even if they did, with DC and 5000 attack (the remainder of my attack after KE) I would and did have no problems hitting them.

Their flinch would lower your attack which would lower the amount of defense you got from nightmare.

Interesting point; running the numbers from that perspective, I still had 6200 attack, which would mean still over 5500 defense after nightmare. Add in my flinch and they STILL should have missed.

What is the difference between your effective defense (after DC) and their effective attack (after Flinch at this point? (did you add 10% to their attack for duelist?)

Yes, I was assuming that from the outset once we started running numbers.

Assuming on my side:

7700 attack
3700 defense
Constitution 250
Flinch 175
Nightmare Visage 80 (20% swap from attack to defense)

Versus

3000 attack
Flinch 175
Dark Curse 225

Assuming duelist in full on both sides, that puts me at 8500 attack; Flinch would reduce that by 17.5%, so 7000, flat. 20% of 7000 would equate to 1400 extra defense; 25% from Constitution would mean that my actual defense stat should have been roughly 6500 defense. Flinch should have reduced 3300 attack to below 3000, and DC225 would have reduced my defense by 42%, so I should have been safe by at least 500 defense.

I hunted last night. Level 620 (Tree of pain), the creature had 3966 attack maximum. I had defence 3780. I thought flinch would be enough to make it not hit me, but it wasn't. Everytime I missed, it hit me. That makes me think that flinch doesn't work anymore how it should.

Did anyone notice an issue with Flinch buff recently? It seems that it stopped working somehow, I'm getting hit when I'm not supposed to, happened quite a few times, during regular hunting and when I was hitting a titan. I asked a few people and almost all of them seem to think they're quite unlucky right now (going through too many imps). If it was just me, could've been variance, but since it happened to others too, I thought I'd get info from a wider player base... Or maybe variance was increased by quite a lot? Can't decide what is more plausible...


Had the same problem - and I too thought that it was just a bad luck that even with survival gear, I burned one imp in one level (against an undead creep with a total damage overkill). Later I checked the combat logs and 2 out of 5 misses were Savagery's fault, but even the 3 outstanding are pretty much against the odds..

Savagery shouldn't cause misses. Were you thinking Shield Strike and typing Savagery when you posted? :)

Sure, that's the one to blame... but still I suspect that there might be something wrong with Flinch, as I was getting hit more often than I expected...
