I like it how they ask us all to come here and vote for 3 skills, only without anyone having taken the time to describe what each does.

I was into this thread at an earlier point but I don't remember what they all are and some of them weren't suggested then.
So what now - we're expected to sift through 43 pages to try to find out what these skills do?

I'd just like to say that I think it's very important to have the FINAL descriptions, durations, and stam costs of the buffs you are thinking of implementing listed and then voted upon BEFORE making the decision to implement. Sure, a couple like Enchant Rune and Teleport which seem overwhelmingly popular will not matter, but all of the other buffs that affect PvP should be thoroughly explained with all the information first. Thank you.

Check the first page...

Thanks! I wish someone would've made that more apparent (and I'd have not made myself look silly)...

A chance to talk about and vote on a finished product prior to implementation will probably save us from having reborn epic buffs :)

Avert Gaze, Glory Hunter and Enchanted Rune got my votes since they seems to be most useful.

I'm still looking for feedback from HCS about all the issues/questions that's been raised throughout this thread about the suggested skills ... and adding one that potentially could get people banned kinda makes you wonder how much thought has been put in to this.

And while I'm cranky and at it, the integrity of holding a vote in a place where it's possible (but not allowed) for one person to cast more than one vote or three in this case is questionable ... I think I got an idea, why not read, respond and lead the discussion about such a big/great change like this is instead of just tossing a couple of ideas out there and let people vote? I'm not saying it's bad asking for input be it in a form of voting, just that skills are the bread & butter of FS so I think it's worth spending some time grinding out any issues and see what kinda impact (good or bad) they could possibly have ... this just seems like the quick & easy way of solving the lack of skills after 700.

I think I'm gonna have some ice-cream to cheer me up. :P

Sacrifice
Chance to inflict greater damage on your opponent, but as a result you receive some damage.

you havent told the most important thing CAN YOU DIE from this skill !!!???

Glory Hunter
Consume gold during combat for an additional xp bonus.

will this use ENORMOUS amount of gold, so only players who donate can use this skill? you must say all about skill before there is GOOD VOTE

ward buff: make it so only yourself and/or guild members/maybe allies can buff you and no other outside players can cast that buff on you.

Hate to double-post but:

- Isn't Poison just another name for Bloodlust?
- Is Invisibility Deflect in disguise?
- Dodge is already way too powerful!
- What is the point in Ward?

That said, if these buffs are all intended for players over level 900, none of this will likely effect me, but the buffs I'd personally like to have are these:

- Teleport
- Shadow Tackle

Notorious could be useful if I ever PvP properly (I'll resist the temptation to complain yet again about the new XP loss calculations) and Concealment should only be put into effect if there was a counter skill at a higher level, such as See Through (which speaks for itself really).

Anyway, I'm only going to vote for 2!

Regardless of what level these buffs get introduced at, until the transparent phrasing of skill descriptions is reworded (cough cough Sacrifice, and others), these votes can't possibly hold water. If you're going to try to speculate releasing new buffs that will greatly affect gameplay, can an effort be made to at least make it look like it was discussed a bit more in depth than over a lunch break?

I've changed my vote now to concealment, enchant rune, and glory hunter. If I could have had a fourth vote, I would have chosen ward, because I like this way of making sure that no one should cast buffs on you-the ward should last a long time, though, make it a Nightmare Visage-type length if it gets implemented.

Poison isn't really necessary, since bloodthirst and ignite do pretty much the same thing.

I like sacrifice, but it needs more details, like HOW MUCH damage you receive/take...

Concealment is good, and imo should be implemented, but it wasn't in my top three.

Same with Teleport.

Shadow Tackle and Invisibility should never be implemented: The only time you should have a non-bountyable attack is if you gain nothing from it (no prestige, gold, or xp: yes pvp rating, since you don't gain anything from pvp rating anyway). However, if you decide for whatever weird reason to implement one, you should implement both, because either one or the other would be unfair.

Leech is basically absorb.

I like Osmose, and think it would be interesting to work with spell breaker. You'd have to make sure that it works on buffs that are actually there, though, and not have the error that spell breaker did, because otherwise, people would be getting free buffs left and right.

Make it .1% per point to your defense for every full set the opponent has equipped. :)

That way it directly comes against KE that it is supposed to work against :)

So essentially I get no benefit from the fact that I had the presence of mind to build a successful gear loadout that includes multiple sets?

Much better to make sets useful for defense as well as attack; that way, you don't get players doing what they do now, which is just stacking blues.

I essentially wanted to vote on these new skills that are being suggested! I wanted to state that it'd be most beneficial to the game as a whole if (voting per skill category).

Offensively: Sacrifice (even though I do personally like this shadow tackle idea).

Defensively: They all aren't very great, but of the suggestions I think Leech is best,... I just thought of an idea,... "tactical error", to buff yourself with , which causes an attacker to attack someone else (within guild or without,... with same level or maybe within the range of their two levels somewhere on a random scale irregardless of the equipage settings).

Special skills: Teleport and Glory Hunter are quite equal I think in mport to the game play,... except that glory hunter is a better gold sink. (not for me maybe, I lose enough against the blinkin critters lol) Ward is a special case, I think its better as an offensive than a defensive casting,...mind you maybe itcould be BOTH? It seems quite useless as for casting on oneself (to me at least),... for casting on an opponent, I do see value for this, only if it is costly in stamina, and has potential to 'backfire'.

I see three main changes:

Concealment: seems to be at a much higher % than before. I disliked it strongly before. Now I fear its a game killer. If you wish to have PVP as part of the game, then it really needs to be open.

Glory Hunter: looks good. Need to know (or have a discussion) on the gold cost though, as its value will be very strongly linked to that. Also, will it cost gold, or cost a percentage of the gold drop? And would that be before or after guild tax is taken? I think it important it be linked to the gold dropped by the creatures (or it would be too focussed on high level players) and that it not undermine guild taxation.

ward: I agree with most of the posts that this is a bad idea.

Of the rest, I still see duplicates of existing buffs, and several buffs that really won't make the PVP/GVG system better. The other three decent new buffs still seem to be teleport, enchant rune and avert-gaze

Just to be clear, if you use glory hunter, it should be something like +.1% xp per point in exchange for -.2% per point gold, imo. Crank the gold sink up, but not to epic proportions, and PLEASE don't make it a flat rate...

choose the new buffs only for PvP, you put so powerful new items and the relic are so powerful too that we can leveling easy without new buffs, even most of the level 700 buffs are useless !
So i suppose the only interessant buffs could be for PvP
