Can we talk seriously about a Guild Merger mechanism?

A safe, secure way of transferring over gold and gear from one to the other is definitely in order. I can't see a legitimate reason why there needs to be risk involved, as there would be in simply withdrawing several million in gold. If the other guild has space, transferring the often valuable items in the store over already tagged (perhaps paid for from the bank of the now vacant guild before it is transferred over) would be invaluable as well.
Warranted? I think so. High Priority? Probably not.
My bet would be on it never happening, but I've been wrong before and would love to be wrong again here.

I think you have seen my sarcasm in the question. Much too often players want something for nothing. I just see this suggestion as another way to ask for the same thing, something for nothing.
I Picked up on what you where saying right away. I'm a smart-alec of the first order myself. I think you and I are seeing the same shade of rose/pink draped over this topic.
This gives me a real WTF?!?!?! moment.
Slavery? Aren't we being a bit of a drama-llama here? All players remain free agents and can certainly leave the merged guild if the wish. Where do you come UP with this stuff?
And yes, this would work like a corporate merger. You work for Company X. They merge with Company Y. All employees from the earlier X and earlier Y now work for the new merged Company Y. Extremely common "in many lands in 'real life'"
Edit: Of course, you're not exactly "working for" a guild - I'm trying to relate to the analogy presented.
Well, that 'moment' you are having probably lasted longer than a second, so here it is in a nutshell. Members of a guild are volunteers. By making guilds merge-able assets you resolve to make the membership into cattle and no longer volunteers.
There are other issues I have with the idea of 'mergers' of guilds. Guild XP lock effects, mass item transfer vs. free market effects, effects on the marketplace/monopolization of the gold point market, effects on the Top250 guild ladder, member max cap issues, item storage would probably come up as a major problem again, how to handle active conflicts in a merged guild environment, ect, ect, ect. It would fundamentally change the play of the game for guilds and for individual players alike.

Can combine 2 guilds but keep them separate at the same time. Roll the Guild exp and bank into an empire and add like new Empire structure. This keeps people building guilds and adds new features same time more FSP spent for HCS.

Even simpler solution would direct the gold and FSPs to the guild founder (or the one who sells the structures and upgrades) and no actual merging would be needed.
Just my drunken 2c. Cheers!

Instead of mergers why not Empire building:
Can combine 2 guilds but keep them separate at the same time. Roll the Guild exp and bank into an empire and add like new Empire structure. This keeps people building guilds and adds new features same time more FSP spent for HCS.
I really like this idea also

Press "leave guild"
"Are you sure?" Yes i am, why did i pressed that in the first place?
"Apply to Join A guild"
"Message: Plz accept me you promised my guild we are merging"
Now from here there are 2 options
option 1
"Accept"
"Welcome to XXX guild"
Option 2
"A member of the guild write message back: Sry you are not qualified to join our guild all we wanted is only to bring the strong players from your previous guild and noobs like you are not wanted!"

What's wrong with this system?

"Apply to Join A guild"
"Message: Plz accept me you promised my guild we are merging"

It wouldn't be introduced as a guild merger if everyone had to lead than join, otherwise the founder could take back all the fsp from the guild (if this was implemented) and decide to join another guild. The merge I'm assuming would transfer all members from guild A to guild B, no questions asked. And to prevent noobs from getting kicked there could be at least a 30 or 60 day kick-proof on them. (That is easily enough time for them to come out of a noob shell, continue being noob or become inactive.)

Ah, great, give noobs 30 to 60 days to sit there naked as easy GvG targets. Other guilds could even pay the noobs to do that, and the victimized guild couldn't do anything about it for two months. And as far as I know, being a GvG-traitor to your own guild isn't a violation of any HC rule: it isn't trading RP. So this would be a "great" way for noobs to earn FSP ...
1) Guild A could be asked by the guild B leader to kick any noobs
2) Usually if they have pvp lacked players, they most likely don't care about gvg overall
3) Whatever are you implying is already easily being abused now

@Phylon We are all slaves/sheep to something or another. Whether it be GvG, Titan Hunts, Leveling, or Merchant-ing, or any other aspect in this game, we all choose to do what we want in this game. And depending on how determined one is to achieve this chosen goal for their character equals out what guild can suit Player X the best. Guild Leaders can choose to do what they think is best for a guild, whether they take in the opinions of members or not, it is the leaders choice. These choices pan out into the guild and eventually effect the direction of the guild and how its leaders run things. (For example: Guilds who "go to war" with other guilds. Member are subject to deleveling whether they choose to participate or not. Does this make they slaves?)
These choices will "trim the fat" of members that can't comply or don't want to comply.
Guild XP transfer would need to find an equilibruim, GS slots should be able to transfer to BP slots of GF once merger is initiated, Top Guild ladder doesn't matter, Max members will need to be raised, conflicts will merger (duh).
As for the guild that is being mergered.... I think there should be a 30-90 day trial period, where active and inactive members alike are merged into Guild A and cannot be kicked. This way, if members from Guild B happen to come back online, they can actively choose to stay in Guild A or to move on. Also, after period is over, inactives/members not complying to Guild A merger rules can be booted. The GF from Guild B should not be able to be booted for a much longer time, to prevent abuse. There should also be a mass message sent to all members of the Guild B informing them on the guild merge, as well as, the trial period.
Just my thoughts
