I think it could be a good idea to add vacation mode to the game , but with limitaions such as

1: once you set VM you have 12 hours to cancel it , after 12 hours you can only cancel it after 96 hours
2: you can not post in the shout box, create new auctions , buff others or be buffed, recall gear from members or guild store, deposit to your bank or guild bank, hire mercs, create groups ( basically nothing except point 3 )
3: you can recall from your mailbox , and post in guild chat.
4: you xp gain and gold gain are reduced to 20% once you are in VM ( to preven leveling abuse ) , and after 7 days they reduce to 0.
5: setting VM will cost you gold ( depending on level or a fixed price )
6: when you cancel VM you can not enter it again for 96 hours.
7: you can not be hit when VM takes effect

Feel free to add more limitations , or flame, spam, or whatever you usually do

So you waste gold/lose xp and lose out on everything the game has to offer for a chance of getting hit?

Nice. 8)

hmmm....not getting hit, if you say you are on vacation, then go on vacation, coming online to say hi is ok ( same as calling back home when on vacation ) ......

You misunderstood what I meant. What I meant was that you are spending gold and losing xp for an already slim chance of getting hit. This is a no no from me because it would damage pvp quite a bit.

But what if someone is trying to get a life?........

Anyway.....after 7 days you cant hit either, so why not sink some gold while ppl need a vacation?

You can also make it that you lose X amount of gold from your bank per day , and when your gold reach 0 VM is off ^^

PvPing is rare unless if you are one of those failfrags with threats on their profile and/or having lots of gold out.

This isn't going to happen because:

1) Ruins pvp
2) If you want a gold sink that would assume this would take a lot of gold (which would be the result of getting pvped anyways, except for you can have 0 gold out and not lose any) then nobody would use it
3) If you reduce the gold to not be a lot then what would be the point

The new XP loss calculations have already ruined PvP - everyone's too scared to go on BB now and lose at least 50% of their level (or, you have to be over 50% of your level to definitely not lose it).

Anyway, Vacation Mode is a great idea, especially with summer right around the corner!
Hopefully the staff will give this idea some serious consideration, for more than a handful of players will be flying aborad and don't want to worry about losing items from their mailboxes, being de-levelled or having all their equipment smashed to sh*te in a GvG.

Of course, there should be certain PvP rules in place to safeguard abuse:

- cannot attack another player for 24 hours before V.M. is activated
or
- can still be attacked for 24 hours after V.M. is activated
these rules would include GvG attacks.

Another rule would be that V.M. can be cancelled at any time, but with a 24 hour delay (so if you don't go to India, backpacking after all and V.M. has started, you can insert your cancel code, but won't be able to actually play (hunt/PvP/GvG) for the next 24 hours).

I'd also like to see a stipulation of only 3 V.M.s allowed per year and no back-to-back V.M.s.

A V.M. should not run for more than 30 days.

P.S. In case it wasn't clear above, items should remain frozen in mailboxes after their auctions expire, with the 24 hours kicking in when the V.M. ends.

This is pointless. I know I wouldn't sacrifice XP gain just to know I wont get hit in PvP.

Maybe lower level players might use it but PvP is rare enough as it is, we don't need something to kill it off entirely!

If you are going on vacation then just get the best offline kit you can get, bank all your gold and XP lock. Not much harm can come to you then apart from your gear, but what does that really matter?
