It's not that bad only one thing I hate about it is the background image I can't decide where to start looking at it from.

Not sure what you mean. Should I blur it more so it doesnt draw so much attention?

Not exactly sure what you should do but it takes your attention away from the thing you should be looking at.

Hello, here is my suggestion:

1. The background is draws too much attention (a little bit messy though), plus the render itself was too small

2. The render quality is really bad unless you made some filter effect on it

3. The text; not bad at all, but perhaps change it

BG is too sporadic. 1.There is no focus. 2.No contrast. 3.Text is bad

1. Try sharpening the whole thing(no opacity changes, no erasing), then with some sort of blur, maybe a guassion. (if that is in Gimp) erase the focal turn down opacity to... 50ish%

2. Black and white Gmaps set to Luminosity, Soft light.. color.. maybe even overlay. Adjust opacity.

3. Try different placements, different fonts, CM's. All that good stuff.

Hope this helps! :D

I tied that but it just opens its own canvas and the blank canvas I made disappears

is the render a .png file? if not it will be like that because .png is the only basic format that supports transparency.
