That was before the delay and it was mainly 3-4 hunters doing the heavy lifting. Not possible now with the delay. ;)


Even still, I am sure if you took an active guild and actually attempted to compete with FFS for each titan it would be a much closer battle...

So lets leave the profit aspect aside for a moment and discuss other flaws of this update. Firstly and most importantly, it completely changes the concept of Titan hunting as we have known it to be. Instead of a competition between guilds, where one's victory eliminates the chance of getting a drop for the other, we are talking about a system like 'waypoints', where all you are racing against is the clock knowing that the competition holds rewards for everyone as long as they get the necessary kills completed.


This would not be the case under my proposed modification. If only the top 5 (or 4 or 3) guilds with over 2500 kills get a drop, no guild can ever stop competing, because some other guild might get more kills than they have and push them out of the top 5. Unlike the current system, where FFS just gets 50%+1 kills and stops with a guaranteed of the drop, you'd have to be at least prepared to keep hunting for the entire life of the Titan, ready to wrack upmore kills to keep in 5th place or better.

5th place would be in brutal competition for hours. This would put pressure on 4th place, and so on. You might want to call the Titan dead after 10 guilds hit 4000 kills each, just out of pity for the exhausted players.

Sounds fun. :) And way more competition than the current system, with minimal code changes.


You seem to misunderstand. The proposal is to give any Guild that achieves 2500 kills with an Item. So once they reach 2500 they would stop.

Not saying this is the best solution.... but not 'completely' out there if done right.

I agree, there ARE better options though.

The titan system has been broken since almost day one. HCS has tried to ignore it, claim everything is working perfectly, and instill numerous bandaids to fix the current system. The problem still persists. The only solution is a complete change. this proposal would be one of several solutions that are much better than the current.



Titans have been out for almost a year now and they have a period of high activity, followed by one of low interest, when it reaches a point when cows step in and make adjustments. What has been done so far has been bandaids, i agree, that is why i have been championing for changes myself that would spice up the interest. Its obvious that more should have been done, considering that whenever people see a Titan topic and a Fracker giving his opinion, reactions are usually not pretty. but, since half the players after every Titan are Frackers, is it really that strange that the same would happen in a Titan-related topic? We dont have to alert everyone to come here, its just an activity most of us engage in (although i did inform the guildmates that dont chech the forum often, so that they can offer feedback).

So, i completely agree with you, a change is vital and there are many systems that will work better than the current one..But that doesnt mean that ANY change suggested is a positive one and that long-term it will keep Titans in the spotlight. Tackling the monopoly is one thing..but freely handing out Epics is completely towards the opposite direction.

I am ignoring the poll. You are the one that made the unsupportable claim about what a "majority of players" agree with. Are you now implicitly withdrawing that claim ?

And I obviously DO read the comments, so your directive that I should is ridiculously unnecessary.

Then get more hunters on it. The only reason that someone in your guild would buy stam to continue is if they wanted more kills. FFS could 'easily' switch out hunters. Called teamwork, eh? Like a competitive sport, you switch out tired or injured players for fresh ones. :P


Why should i sit out and be bored?? Hell I have never seen you out on a titan...so stop with your 2 cents, when you dont know what your talking about.....Do you see me telling you how to pvp??? so get your butt out there, and hunt some Titans!

I tried quite a few Oggy's and have solo placed for CW before. So think, flyinh.... instead of spouting out crap.

Now you resort to more attacks on me. Act your age, seriously. That was a hunt where all I had was my PvP gear.... I was 5-hitting the titan. Stam burns out pretty quick.... oh, yeah and I still managed to help dmr place later. My PC ain't the best, so excuuuuuse me for not getting 500+. :roll:

You would still have to work for them, and i imagine it would encourage competition for multiple guilds to get 2500 kills. IMO it's much better for the health and longevity of the game. It's not healthy for a game to be so profit driven on items that sell for multiple 100s of real life $$$.

I'd like to re-iterate, this system isn't as terrible as many people are making it out to be and would bring several ameliorations to the current system. However it is missing any type of competition, which is really upsetting.

we all know it takes time and practice for some players to be able to get a nice amount of titans kills... when he was in the mill with us Flyin he had never hunted them before and was in pretty much sucky gear... but when he was in CW he was able to have better gear and was able to participate in more hunts and he can get +200 by himself. I have seen it. so name calling is not very nice.

It would bring participation (one of the ameliorations), but not competition.

Participation, competition: both are what hcs is trying to encourage i thinks. (and ffs too if you listen to their words)
