Let's get this right, 1 crystal key for 1000 loyalty points or 10,000,000 gold.

1000 loyalty points cost no less than $50.00 dollars real money.
10,000,000 gold cost no more than a $20.00 donation.

LOYALTY?!?!? why does is feel like my first night in prison?!?!?

the loyalty rewards are a BONUS in addition to the fsp you get from the donation.

+1

Exactly so.... if you count the FSP that comes with the loyalty points for donating, you could easily get the points or gold for the key anyway. lol

I get what you are saying, I guess I should have mentioned that I find it weird that there seems to be no reward that is exclusive to paying members. We do keep the game going while it becomes more and more popular and can sell more ads and such.... There are fsp as a bonus for donating and an extra bonus of loyalty points, but even the free members get them. Once you get enough the fsp become self sustaining in the right hands so what I mean is, what reward is there for those of us who donate regularly and in high amounts exclusive to "us". The loyalty rewards are bound also which seems unfair.........someone enlighten me XD

Why should you get anything extra? Its a donation, you dont have to do it, you do it to make things easier for you ingame. Ive given HCS some of my cash, more than I thought I would have when I started, but less than a lot of players on here. I donated for the FSPs, nothing more, and I dont think anything else is needed. Easy FSPs and a nice bonus to your Allegiance Token amount is more than enough in my opinion.

There bound to promote donating as otherwise you have to wait a long time to get your hands on a LF1250 pot.

Uhm, so let me get this straight. Levelers can buy their AT potions directly, for a fixed cost, but pvp players must spend stam AND AT to get a chance at potions that benefit them?

Forgive me for being underwhelmed by this update.

I personally think it's quite amusing that there's gonna be "rubbish" in the chests - or was, until the outcry.

Why does everything in the game have to be WIN WIN WIN now - folk scavenge and complain when they lose money .. HELLO !! - it's a gamble. The chests should be a gamble too.

No-one is forcing you to pay for a key to open them. If you do tho, take the rough with the smooth and GET THE **** OVER IT :)

There's a difference between wanting a win key and maintaining a formula that encourages people to risk opening a chest - and therefore being more likely to donate, pard.

Having a crummy drop possible like the Potion of Blessed Sanctum is far preferable to having a greater doubler potion drop - they're probably about as useful in real terms, but at least the chest drop is exclusive.

That might well have been a 1% chance of occurence - who knows ? - doubt we ever will now too. I'm sure there's good stuff in them too - but I've only seen mention of the Sanctuary 250 potion and that crystal sword so far. Neither float my boat, but it's very early days - there could be some amazing stuff in them too. But, most folk seem to want it pretty much GUARANTEEING that what they find in the chest will be worth more than the key cost .. WHY SHOULD IT BE ?

It shouldn't.

A lot of the whining could have been headed off if this update hadn't been sprung without warning, though.

I doubt it was a 1% chance to get a greater doubler potion if one of the very first chests to be opened contained one - that's a pretty low rate of occurence, after all. Who knows.

*shrug* this is just one more distraction, honestly. Don't see a reason why Cows ignored several threads, including one with over 30 pages of feedback, asking for non leveling potions or rewards, and instead gave us an in game gambling system.

There's whiners, there's people who like it, and then there's people who point out the obvious flaws. And then there's one more group of people who just say everyone who isn't happy is a whiner.

Maybe that third group of people wouldn't have to exist if stuff got TESTED FIRST. :?

The bottom line is probably that fixing existing issues doesn't increase their revenue stream but implement new ideas has the potential to do so ... (and these new studious won't be cheap LOL)

cause people only want to win from it ...

In my opinion if there are 4 items in the chest there should be 1 item that is worth more than the keycost, 1 that is about the same value and 2 others that are worth less.

So it still gives enough incentive to try your luck and open the chest.
In that way it would be a nice gold sink out of the game

Sorry, that means that EVERY chest opened is a WINNER...

Make 10% of them have a clear PROFITABLE item in them
80% of them break even +/- 5-10% and
10% have crap in them

that way you make 100% ++ profit on a chest...that sounds like a lil too much,
if you ask me :?

I want to offer, first of all, that I like the update and think the concept is great. It sinks gold, loyalty, and stamina. All good. It also doesn't seem to reward "higher" players over "lower" ones like SE and arenas so often do. Nicely done.

It's strange that the same people that criticize others for "whining" all the time (for instance about PvP) seem to be the most upset with the game mechanics of this. We won't call it "whining" because that's been co-opted for only anti-PvP threads, but we'll say it's game-related-critical-discourse.

As for the chests themselves... there's no requirement to open them, right? Why the hubbub? Don't open one if/when you find it, then. Problem solved.

no it wouldn't, cause basicly it's not a 50% chance of getting the 2 items that are worth something.

If I understood it correctly it's still dropratebased.
Since you have 4 items in it, it'll just mean the droprate of those items is different depending on the chesttype.

Who knows the droprate for the worthwile item isn't 2-10% depending on the chest opened.

I think the issue that some people are having with this is that it's a lottery with too high of a cost.

Pay $1 for a 1/20,000,000 chance at winning $10,000,000, and yeah, people will pony up.

Pay $10,000 for a 1/2,000 chance of winning $10,000,000, and not many people will be buying tickets.

This is regardless of what any other prizes are.

Put $1 in and win nothing, people will be like, "Big deal." Put in $10,000 and win a prize worth $2,500, and people will complain until the end of the earth, despite actually winning something, rather than nothing.

ok, i think i misinterpreted what you said. So, if there's 1-4 items in any given chest, then the 1-4 should come from valuable, average and crap. Fair enough, then we both agree i think :)

The point is, NO-ONE HAS TO OPEN THEM - and, if you do and don't like what's in there ? - suck it up .. YOU CHOSE to open it :)

It's not a donation in essence, more like a paying customer. I can get a dog free at the pound....If I donate.....Free beer with purchase of can (do I even want the can? lol).....
Yes I get lot's of points for my "donation"........ that can be robbed as I try to trade in market place so my reward becomes some "super skilled" thiefs reward.
I work very hard in RL for my money so none of my fsp's come easy. In my opinion I think that there should be an exclusive reward for the people that pay for this game. If we did not donate there would be no game and if your gonna give points for the donations why should anyone within 5 levels be able to steal them off me. Imagine a group starting out a guild and they spend $2000.00 to get a nice chunk of fsp to update their new guild. Now they take say $240.00 worth of fsp toward the donated fsp and try to sink it in the guild bank. They don't know the risk of the game just yet and are all happy to start their guild....... along comes a thief noting the massive gold in the guys pack........you know how the story ends.

I'll open one if I find one.

It's a GAME.

Thanks, Cows, for adding another element to the game.
