FAIL...there is something like EXP GAIN someone will back after 2 years and want to play again with much more exp ;) this game is made that way you can get gold/exp even if you are innactive...so your idea will never happen...forget about it.

I think there ought to be a time limit though; based on account level...

for example, a level 10 or less inactive account should be deleted after ?3? months; a level 100 or less account after 6??, and after level 100, no deleting.

Likewise for guilds; after 12 months of NO activity in the guild, delete them; they aren't coming back (and if the player does, then they can still play obviously).

I don't think EVERY SINGLE INACTIVE ACCOUNT should be kept just because they "might" come out. Clear the database of unneccessary level 5 accounts and bankrupt, uber-inactive guilds, trim stuff down.

Just my 2 cents, I freely admit it will (likely) never happen.

It was oozing with fail, but bandlaw put up a good point.

Delete all terminated accounts. As the terminateds would say, "I will not be back."

I went inactive twice for 6 months each, I would of flipped out if my acc wasnt there when I got back. This thread is straight up retarded, If you're not coming back, you ask HCS to delete you acc, otherwise just ignore the inactives. As for inactive guilds, maybe not have them show up on the A-Z list? That would be awesome.

NO.

You never know when players are going to come back and as they may have invested real money in to it, they can never be deleted.

I would however like to see them made totally inactive and stored on a seperate database. When they want to come back they have to contact HCS to get transferred and reactivated.

would be nice to see them removed from the a-z list would help people find active guilds without the distraction of having inactive guilds in the way of it

Been shot down multiple times, and no real reason in support of it has ever come up. (Besides the clearing out of guilds from the A-Z list, which is all that needs to happen, don't bother with actually deleting them...)

This has been shot down many times on the grounds that people come back, or dont but shouldn't be deleted since they 'may' have donated. While that's a fine policy, there are ways of going about it that reach a middle ground. I've seen it in other games.

Other places:

1. accounts get deleted for inactivity after a set amount of time, based on player level
2. accounts that have donated or done reward offers that pay out (even once) have an immunity to deletion. This is due to showing that they're interested and willing to invest money, or time as money in the case of rewards.
3. Allowing a donation credit to be applied to another player's account as a gift. This however should require that both accounts involved have to be scrutinized for potentially being multi accounts.

Issues here with this method:

a. a country has no reward offers, regularly
b. people who are too young to be able to donate
c. people being unable to donate.

Potential Solution:

A gold sink which is available -only- to those who have not donated or have not had a successful reward offer completed.

How this might work:

For a fee, (say 25% of the gold deposited to a fund each time) a player can deposit a portion of their gold into a kitty which when sufficiently funded automatically will list on the marketplace for an exchange to an fsp. The listing will be at a value reasonably (5-10%) higher than the current top listing for an fsp. Normal listing fees apply. If after an hour the listing hasn't cleared, the fund goes back to their kitty. The 15 to 20% over that is required is removed from the game after the sale. Manually canceling the listing returns the gold to the kitty at a 2% (minimum) loss in addition to the listing fee.

The 'kitty' is not using a bank deposit, but can only be 'deposited' into for an equivilant number of deposits as a player's daily bank deposit allowance.
The 'kitty' is not like a bank account - the player would not be able to withdraw gold from it.
At the time of a successful reward offer completion, or a first donation the total of the kitty, minus 25% is moved to the player's bank account.

Now, the key here is preventing abuse. This could be done by putting a limit, based on player's level, on how much they could deposit into their kitty each day, and would be based on the player's level as well.

Successfully converting the kitty to an fsp would then mark an account as a donating account and give deletion exemption, but still be able to use the kitty method. It would not however give any loyalty points.

Additionally, accounts currently inactive would be grandfathered and the name is protected from use. Deleted accounts would be archived for a year minimum, and longer based on player level.

Just a thought.
