Does your pc meet the system requirements? It might not work if it's an old pc.

just saying, vista is THE worse operating system you can have
i downgraded to xp on one of my computers, and upgraded to windows 7 on the other. i prefer windows 7, but the one i downgraded on couldn't handle it.

Is it opening and then crashing or are you getting some sort of error message when you try to open it?

Hmm never had problems with gimp, check you're fonts folder, make sure all you have in there are fonts. If that doesnt work, try googling the problem lol

You could try completely uninstalling it and deleting any gimp related folders after uninstalling then re-installing it. Also try downloading a different copy of the installer. Might be a corrupt file somewhere.
