Hmm how about introducing shifting stats on the relics once a week or something (And remove those all encompassing relics). IE for EP for example right now its def/arm with XP bonus. In a week, it could be att/def but without the bonus or something of that nature (Enhancement would also change too). Would really weaken any agreements between guilds...just a 3 AM suggestion lol...

I like this idea. It would make a weeks worth of defense worth it, and force guilds to actively secure relics they want to keep.
I am sure it could be fleshed out to work really well.

How did this thread detour from relics to gvg?? Can it get back on track and deal with the relic issue and if people want to talk about gvg start another thread or join the current one on gvg


Simply because one of the problems about the relics is people not using them the way the makers intended (agreements instead of fighting) - and it's a theme that occurs in many areas of FS - and we need every opportunity to tell the developers to fix the root causes, not the symptoms.

Get them to nerf the relics, make them much cheaper to empower (and even more so for small guilds) and the relic traffic will soon be back where it was before the % change..


Without agreements, no one would be significantly empowering any relics beyond one home, defensible relic. Empowering other relics to any significant level requires agreements, or otherwise, it's a waste of gold. Anyone who seriously expected guilds to dump 10s of millions of gold into relics, only to lose them 2 hours later, is not thinking things through.

There are, and always have been only 2 possible scenarios for the current relic system:
lots of empowering, and little capturing, or
lots of capturing and little empowering.


Added bolding as I assume that you just missed that part - it definitely wouldn't be in 10s of millions range, I guess... Scratch one zero to start with, but probably even more (After all, if it would be something like 0.2% per empower level, with total limit of 5%, the empower cost would have to roughly match the benefit to be attractive.)

I like Coyotik's ideas... I STILL want the gains removed though. No stamina gain, no XP gain. Those are the relics most-valued anyway, and the ones (I suspect, I won't claim to know) that are most likely part of the pacts.



Those are the lower level ones that are actually defended with just about every active member, thus not the problem. The higher up relics that give major stat bonuses are defended through pacts.

In fact, in many cases it's not "pacts", it's just trial-and-error. You take a relic, the guild retaliates against your relic - and sooner or later you arrive at the conclusion that you'll be better off without stirring trouble. So, the only guilds/people taking empowered relics are those who don't have any, most of the time.

Yup.... and that's not fault of the players. I'd think just about most top guilds with a few in the upper levels has at least a silent agreement with everyone else, if they are able to have one of their own. Too much to lose, in the ways of gold

I don't really care about deals, pacts, covenants, arrangements, what----ever.

No one's going to stop human nature. We work deals on these kinds of things. :P


I just think the relics are over-powered. 8)
