1. It isn't "opportunity" PvP if you can't engage in it at a moment's notice. Having gold on hand show up for players who share the same VL is nothing but a darwinian mechanism. If we were discussing having gold searchable or having it displayed for +/- 5 levels, you'd have a point; however, gold on hand for VL is the status quo and it works quite well, thank you very much.

2. Your main concern seems to revolve around the ability to instantly attack, not having the information available. Once again, by all means, remove the instant radio button click. It doesn't have any bearing on actual PvP. Do NOT mess with the information displayed, however.

Not so my main point is that it gives the PvP player an unfair advantage being able to see the gold holdings without actually looking at the player first. When I hunt a creature I don't get to know how much gold it has I have to look if I want that information. Second is the waste stamina button that is attached as well.

Without wanting to sound too radical, how about remove the restrictions altogether.

Make it open house, anybody can attack absolutely anybody, wahhhaaay! :P

Once I hit someone in my pvp level range , whether it be for gold, or hourly hitting etc, I remember them.I keep an eye on players as I level and they level ;) I pop online and search their name, It doest mean i am going to hit them again..But i like to keep an eye out.

Yep and I do the same both for friends and enemies.

Like grave said, the attack player is a brief glimpse into who is online, there isn't anything wrong with that..I never just click the link and attack the player without thought. I scan what equip they have, and if they got gold? I buff up and swing for the fences. Those who want to get rid of the link seem to want to become a bit safer PvP wise?Theres a buff for that...DEFLECT, or even better..don't hold gold.

I use deflect at times when I have something going on like the possibility of being placed on the bounty board. I also only hold enough gold to make it really worth while to hit me about twice a week and most times it is less then 1fsp worth. As my earlier post said I never Hunt or hold for a deposit within the first 30 minutes of logging into the game because of that screen.

i like to hold millions of hold on hand but got hit and won so put up a 2 million gold bounty on the 1 that hit me then got well out of range so he can't hit me and if you can attack player 5- 5+ from your level why do only players your level show up on the attack player screen?

Very bad thing to do. You want it available use your bank but holding it in hand will paint a target bulls eye on you for thieves. Thieves don't really care about levels or xp just the gold they can steal.

I really love the OPs idea... so similar to that other game.. what's the name again.. uhm.. oh yeah Sigma Storm II ... PvP there is just soooo much fun, and the game is evolving at a tremendous speed and I am certain it's because of the way PvP is made out there. It's almost impossible to connect to the game servers due to the huge activity over there

Seriously though... the idea may work in the lower lvls, but I cannot for the love of the gods, remember the last time I ran across anyone on map. Seems most ppl in my range do as me when finished hunting... something else than just sitting on map staring into the wall.

No one can deny that we changed this game and influenced it in such a way that NO ONE could compete with us.. so much so that they changed the rules. ~Abhorrence, chosen founder of Cerulean Sins

Think about what you just said so you want a level 900+ or even me a level 450+ to be able to attack you.

Lol i wasn't being serious. But then again, being able to attack any player higher level sounds like fun. If not a little one sided xD

I am not impressed with SS2 but am even less impressed with the past improvements here that favor a PvP player over all others. The vast majority here level and do very little PvP so why should PvP players have an advantage? Because they are a minority?

Funny enough, the vast majority of upgrades/alterations/improvements to the game has been aimed at levelers... sorry if we once in a triangle shaped moon managed to get the cows attention on something being messed up in the PvP aspect of the game (oh, did I mention the cows encourage PvP .. even on the sign-up page?) ... I can understand why nothing needs to be changed for what you have decided is a minority (can I possible have a sneak peak at your survey on this?)

Ignoring a portion of the population is surely how the world is run.. especially a fictional one like Fallensword.. and we should all be ashamed at ourselves for wanting to improve the part of the game we find to hold the most fun.

If you want to remove the ability to attack directly from the attack player screen, that's fine - I never use it anyway, and nor does any other effective pvp player.

I like this idea, though the Cows might not, because stamina sinks are things they like.

I am constantly amazed that players just don't understand the game and continue holding opportunistic amounts of gold. Sell gold into safe FSPs and forget about the buff.

Two words: Guild Deposits. Other than that, I agree with you.

That is my point about that screen. If someone is making a deposit to the guild then the gold holdings will be well more then they should have on them. It only happens for a few minutes and I don't know how fast that screen refreshes. If they have gone offline with that kind of gold holding then that is their problem and they have not learned the lesson yet.

As a victim of someone stalking me and stealing 5 million gold between the MarketPlace and the Guild Deposit screen, I know what you mean.
