Does Find Item help with resource drops?

If it is used in conjunction with Resource Finder, does it help, hurt, or do nothing?

Find Item may help you find more resources BUT it will also help you find a bunch of stuff you don't want too. The names say it all, Resource Finder focuses just on resources while Find Item helps you get a drop of any of the items that creature drops so if you just want a resource it's best to stick with Resource Finder and leave the Find Item at home.

You're better off not having Find Item buffed on you along with resource finder.
I don't know the statistics, but I am basing this off my own experience.

Thanks,

I think I understand it now. If a monster drops more than just the resource, then FI is bad. FI only helps with Resource Finder with monsters who only drop a resource(s).

For example:
A creature drops 5 items. 4 are random armor, 1 is the resource you want.
Each of the 5 has the same % chance to drop.

Let's say you only have RF on.
If you fail the % chance to get any of the 5 drops...then RF kicks in to allow you another chance to get ONLY THE RESOURCE. This is good.

But if you have FI on...
...then, if you would've failed the % chance to get any of the 5 drops, now with FI, you've INCREASED your chance to get one of the 5 drops. Which, if you DO get a drop because of FI, there is a 4 in 5 chance that the drop will NOT be the resource that you want.

When this happens...RF never had a chance to kick in. This is bad.

Other example:
If a creature only drops a resource, then FI should increase the chance of getting the drop with the first roll, and if that fails, RF kicks in to make a second roll. In this particular situation, FI is helpful instead of hurtful.
