Good day /night

I am new at this whole avi making but ..i know that asking for advice and opinions always is a great way to learn
So here goes
my avi : Posted Image

I know its beginners stuff and not great ..but Could you all be so nice as to help me out with a few things here ??

1) If you see things that need improvment could you tell me
2) thing that i missed doing (filters, bluring and so on)
3) Any advice or hint over things i should do/ improve
4) Just any and all advice :P

Thanks :D

oh that background reminds me on the first abstract art I learned to do...that brings back memories :D

The avi looks really good for a beginners work. But the text is a bit difficult to read so you should change it.

Not bad for a first time :) Quite frankly there's a lot I could say, but I suggest just work on the text for this one.

I am glad to see another person interested in making avis! Hopefully you don't mind me asking a few questions?

1.What program(s) do you use?

2.How much do you know about graphics?

As everyone says when people come up for the first time, read the stickies at the top of this forum, they might be able to help you.

Well text is very tricky for many people. Especially me!

To start, I suggest to not have the color of the text switch back and forth. It confuses the eyes =P

Text should be put close to the render, and never in a corner.

A way artists choose text colors is by choosing a color from the piece, maybe even darkening or lightening it depending on placement.

Text should be clean and readable, try not to choose something very distorted.

I think you should show them some more of your work as well :) It might help them get a better idea of more that you can... This is your first avi but not your first piece of art :)

Yes you lol ... Ive seen your work and personally think you are very good at it :) But I dont have such a trained eye as these guys ... if they could give criticisms on your other work as well it could help for ALOT of your future work and not just be based around a single avatar :)

In order to bear repeating what I've said many times in the past, I've constructed an organized list of points that someone who's new would want to go over; looking for advice and being new to the art of avatar/signature making in this setting, I'd highly recommend you check it out: http://forum.fallens...hp?f=21&t=59751.

Good luck, and I hope you excel greatly at avatar making, but more importantly, that you have a great time doing so,
Xel.

Well, for the bits you don't understand, you can ask me personally about them here or in PM, and I'll try my best to explain those parts to you. If you post here, the parts you don't understand, other people can probably also help you with. As far as any tutorials you try, after doing a tutorial, you should ask for c&c [comments and critiques] on your result image, explainin that you made it from a tutorial and linking the tutorial with your result. We can then help you by explaining anything you may have missed, showing you what you did good and possibly how you could make that stick out more prevalently in the rest of your works, and even giving you tips for future images and such.

Good luck, hope to see you off your feet soon,
Xel.
