Nice flow. probably a more blueish background would have been better. Keep the text font a bit simple looks too mingled to me. Try adding a 1 px border if you change the Bg to a bit blueish one.and some lightning too. probably from the top right where the flow originates  and yes this is the right section :)

For your first, that's pretty nice.

Try not to put too many effects over the focal, first of all. Work on the colors of the effects. In this case, make them blue-ish for a color theme, to match the focal's hair. You can add C4Ds to define the flow more. Text is jumbled up and unreadable. Use simple fonts, such as Arial and Century Gothic, and simple colors at first, and then you can look up tuts or ask for advice on more complicated text. :)

I was asking a friend of mine if the text looked too confusing, deciding not to change it, I left it as it was. And thanks for your reply :)

Yep I did. Takes practice in Photoshop, lol. What program do you use, btw?

Why hello there! It's always nice to see a new name amongst these boards! ^_^

As for your work, that's really good for a first image; but in the future, you want to knock out the viewers with a demonstration of a strong understanding in visual effects to give them exactly what you want them to have. A piece of art, if created just right, can inspire emotion and inspiration within an individual. :]

As for your avatar that you posted, I think the hair color, (that cyanish bit,) is far oversaturated; and therefore burns attention from the eye. As mentioned before the text is too crazy and hardly legible; stick with 'clean fonts' like 'Arial' 'Candara' and other "Sans-serif" fonts. Ex: http://www.dafont.co...eme.php?cat=501.

Off the bat, normally, I'd explain a bunch of visual elements and teach you how to incorporate them; but to save myself time, and to prevent myself from iterating the same thing over and over again, I have compiled them into this thread a long time ago: http://forum.fallens...hp?f=21&t=59751. I recommend you go through the thread and absorb as much as you can. IF you have any questions, feel more than free to ask here in response to this post; if I can't answer them, someone else should be able to help you out.

Good luck out there,
Xel.

Ps: I should add as a note, I should only be active here for a few more weeks when the currently running grand graphics tournament is over; though I don't think I'm gonna make it past this round right now, so I may be gone sooner.

Looking at it again, I notice that there are 2 layers of text. The one stays the same throughout. Only use 1 layer of text, preferably only 1 line/word as well.

Anyways, I tried to make a small modification to it in terms of removing some of the excess saturation and removed the dual text thing you had going on; I also slightly blurred it because it looked too sharp to me, this is what I ended up with:

Xel.
Ps: I also notice that your avatar was 223x223px, when making avatars for this game, keep your canvas size 200x200px or your quality will suffer.

Oh it was? I tried to make it 200 - 200, i guess i must have cropped to big when I was cropping it. My bad :P and thanks for your advice - I like the edited version you made. I'll take this to my next project, not making images so sharp.
Thanks again!
