As HCS have done with the PvP changes i thought arena players might like to get started on putting forward suggestions. I know we allready have an arena thread, but its very long and some of it is very out of date.

So here is what many players have been asking for (i will keep this my first post as a summary)

1) Better management of the tourney prizes.

a) Have a lower ratio of recipes to components (lower % of recipes)
B) Rotate all prizes more often so as to not cause a glut in the AH, perhaps increase level range for prizes to help them fill faster?

c) Potion prizes should be more realistic (SW 80 and Cons 100?) Honestly LMAO

2) Better management of the level mix and more tournies in general

Have some parameters in place which make the tourney level mix more reflective of the player level mix.
ie) if we have 10% of players above level 800 then try not to have more than 10% of tourneys over 800.

3) More Move Tournies

Non-move tournies are becoming more and more frustrating for many players. Either Attack/Armor sets beating each other in 2% miss JD or Maximum defense JD'd with no one hitting at all.
I think most arena players would agree the move tournaments are less frustrating and much more satisfying to win :-)

4) Moves: Less luck more talent

Cows, please look at the moves and make them less reliant on "luck"

25% chance for deflected damage (many prefer no deflected damage)
20% chance to hit with Spin (be better if the chance to hit was more reflective of your attack towards their defense)
Weakens working at random is a lottery
Less "chance/luck" please

Many of the moves are not completely understood and dont seem to behave consistantly, some transparency provided by the cows will alleviate many of the frustrations.

5) Arena Changeroom

The ability to enter without exposing your setups would be nice, although no one is sure of how feasable it is. The cows thoughts would be great here.

Suggestions thus far:

a) One Big Prize with a huge amount of entrants, not a regular thing...just as a "special event", maybe 2nd-5th place could get some fsp out of a hundred or more players this could be a really good gold sink (are there enough player numbers to support it is the question/problem)

B) Or a big tournament where entrants compete for points over many different levels and the overall winner is decided through a points table.

I like this its a good idea i always lose my pvps and this might change it :D

Something like the PvP thing that theyre proposing? Ie have a separate bi-weekly reset ladder, that reward the activities of the top 10 winner? Tokens that can tie in with the PvP (or not) since theyre both PvP based and have prizes like 10% off next 25 entry etc? So that anyone who PvP can support any habit they want to in the arena, while arena player might want to PvP? Just a suggestion.

Your intentions are good and I like the other ideas but im not so sure I like this one ... Ive seen a few players (of the registered thousands and playing hundreds) who have competed and won arena`s far higher than their level. For example I saw a player who was 250ish who had one at a 500 ish arena ... Just adds more of a challenge for those not of that level :)

in agreement for the most part

prizes definitely need to be regulated a bit more, grim said he would do that, but i am not sure if he has much to do with Fs these days

more move tourneys please, make people actually earn those wins !

all of this is great especially the more move tourneys. thats a big part i think to actually winning the arena. first comes the actual setup then comes the moves that u use. also the potion part needs to be fixed. 20k to enter a level 100 conserve pot? that doesnt make sense. something needs to be done go improve the arena and get more people involved.

i would like to see change in random and luck wins in Arena!! its realy hard to hit defencive setups !
someone using 1000 attack and opponent 1100 defence cant hit with Spin ! i would like to see change about this close stats like adding new move increase some attack or armor or defence !

i would like to see someone other than HCS do it so its done right lol but i agree with shindrak there i was just up against max def and i had 11 weakens fail and 5 succesful yet i still never hit with my spins and the biggest majority of wins through out the day are max def sets so much for the 60 swings taking this judges out of it theres more JD's than ever so please HCS actually listen to players who have played arena for a while they no the problems within the arena not just players whi have played twice and cant get a win so what it changed so they get a win we know u guys want more players playing arena as its a gold sink so ur probs giving new players using max def an advantage so they stick at it but i know a lot of good arena players who have quit because its a joke now with all the recips etc being such a high price and u cant sell them so it clogs up arena and the fact max def has such a high win rate puzzles me as am sure the 60 swings was meant to make things more fair and the judges decision would be more rare.

end of rant lets hope we have a message from HCS on here soon date posted 5 aug.

Would love for them to do this AND remove spin, there's no reason for a person with little or no attack having 20%+ of hitting another person...Although they would need to nerf Crush too.

Would love for them to do this AND remove spin, there's no reason for a person with little or no attack having 20%+ of hitting another person...Although they would need to nerf Crush too.


maybe or actually right ! someone going for super defence and low attack, dmg or armor ... why would spin work for them against someone using gr8 stats higher attack and defence !
..i think it should be more fair for who work more making their setups to deserve the win !
hope HCs do something !

decrease recipes spawns too..


I vote that in the future any items that use the recipe will also use one of the other crystalline items in the arena...or items from the previous round.

Also recipe arena will move alot fast if people somehow forgot the recipe after not using it for a set period of time...just a thought

My proposal doesn't stop lower levels entering higher level tournaments, its just about having more tournies at the levels where there are more players. No biggy really :-)

I am liking everything that you are saying kaboobi.. I believe that we should have 6 catagories in the arena.
Moves,
Gold,
Recipies,
Components/Quest,
Items/Equipment,
Potions.

The potions there are there now suck big time.. worthless and still a great oppotunity to sink some gold if they were worthwhile.. like .. AL1200 , UB200 , DC300, .. any potion that is an arena prize should be a higher level than can be buffed or invented..

I like the idea of putting in some special items in the equipment arena..not hard to go take a look at what is valuable or hard to find and choose them..

And rotating the gear is a great idea.. let the market build up a bit..

Kaboobi, i've been arguing for this since the day after the Arena was implemented - hence why i hardly ever play the 'Arena Lottery', which is what it is, very few lower level players in guilds without Epics can even stand a chance.

Arena is decent idea but if its to involve skill and talent is needs to lose the vast luck element - i won't hold my breath.

the only way to win these times are : FULL DEFENSE in and in on moves !
a FULL DEFENSE setup can win 4 fights in a row without be hitting during 60 rounds each time against armored setup. Sure it can happen, but for the moment it can happen an armoured mate win !
nobody knows really the rules but it seems the 2% hit rule doesn't exist because in 60 rounds a armoured setup would have near 70% chance of hitting which is not the case !
and why always put new insane stats defensive gears ? Fushiyoma, Demon queen...
arena is become just a big lottery and only the ones who try the less, win, it is reallt too frustating
So sure, something has to be done
For me, the more issue is that what ever your attack, you have same chance hitting ! a player doing attack/defense setup should have more chance hittinh than people with defense/damage and when i see Spin almost never working against full defense setups, i really wonder if HCS knows something in arena !

i think you should atleast get a complimentary prize for making it to the final round and losing to ppl like brice, copykitty, grachunka, batboy and so on:D
