Im sure ill get hate mail for this but I feel the need to play devils advocate.
Seems that its right from the cows mouth the majority of people getting "hacked" gave away the info. But in the end whatever way it was done a guild hack is a terriable thing id never wish on anyone.
But
Why should HCS magically make it all well again? Where in the rules does it say they will? Cuz theres a place where they tell you that you are responsable for your account. In other places I go not only do they not roll back or replace anything most times the "hacked" account is termed no matter if they shared their pass, had a lil brother who was mad at them or just forgot to logg off that shared computer they were using. Finally rolling back is simply giving some players thousands of dollars worth of items and making the price crash for those who bought theirs and did keep their pass safe.
That said I think more should be done to accomplices because to be blunt someone who bought an item they knew to be stolen is an accomplice to the crime just as much as the guy who did it. I saw the 3FSP auctions and I saw all the boxes clearly stating it was stolen gear being sold and I saw a kk helm bought for 3fsp and the person (no names here only protects the guilty) actually had the gall to put up a FS box selling that helm "cheaper than any other on AH". At the very least these items or profit made from them should be stripped and an additional penalty added,, suspension perhaps depending on the case and how blatant the offender was in helping in the theft,,and yes buying the gear was helping just as much as if you stood there and helped haul it out,,send that gear and points back to the hacked guild, at the most terminate these players for outright theft. Perhaps when its not profitable to help somoene steal it will happen a lot less often.
