Guild versus Guild.

It doesn't mention calling it pvp anywhere..


check out the "top rated" menu :) that's what got me started down that line of logic. but, seriously, I will retract my GvG comment, as I don't want it to derail this thread, nor the valid complaints about the BB. they need to be addressed and I don't want angry GvGers to start taking up valuable discussion.

Most of the suggestions made on how to fix the ladder among other things has been made by players involved with PvP and those not too involved either, posted in public here on the forum. I personally don't have an agenda except from making sure the right people are up on that list, I wouldn't stand much of a chance since I PvP far less than others. With the previous system I could get pretty high up on that ladder from just clearing bounties, and that hasn't changed ... I'd like to see those hitting a lot off the board and winning a lot rewarded regardless of what level they are, not just see their rating getting eaten up by someone like me on the board.

As for the stam restrictions I think it's limiting game play, choice is a big part of PvP:ing in this game, makes it a bit more organic than hitting creatures for XP, entering arena or chasing SE (and I say that doing all of those). Keeps the game interesting.


It's not limiting gameplay, that the thing. The 'choice' to still place or clear ten hit bounties remains.

OK, so I think we are ALL agreeing that this update is broken in many different ways and needs to be fixed.

The fact that the cost to place 20 hit bounties was too low was never disputed..

Ok, this update is awful.

My question is what about those that absolutely dont partake in PvP? They get punished as it was for gold, xp, and rating and now get more punishment because the rating is reset each week and if they bounty the attacker the hunter "punishing" the hunted is also punished plus now they lose levels which some cant compensate for especially the newer players that are trying to learn the game unless they buy their way to regain the xp loss from such hits and that is something that not everyone can afford to do. Also this makes the certain quests that require a certain PvP rating from start to finish even more difficult to complete.

SideNote: what the heck is up with the MarketPlace? trying to get rid of gold for a fsp is a pain in the rear now with the jacked up prices...

I haven't recieved the gold rewards for any of the bounties I've completed.

Is anyone else having the same issue?


i my self recieved the gold but for the bounties i did only one recieved pvp ratings the other did not which to say i was very disapointed i would have gotten to the top ten in the top ratings :x

Looking at the changes to the PvP ladder and the Bounty board from my low level bounty hunter/PvPer perspective:


The 20 hit bounties mean that you have made the stam requirement too high for most starting low level bounty hunters. The other factor is trying to get to 20 kills means a likelihood of missing on one hit is increased. In a close race with a high level bounty hunter, the low level bounty hunter will lose all those races and lose out on too many bounties. For a starting bounty hunter, what that means is that if I lose out on three close 20 kill bounties, I've wasted my entire reservoir of stamina for the day and gained nothing. In fact, if I get a counter bounty, I would lose the day's stamina and need to expend more stamina the next day to regain the lost XP before I could go back to bounty hunting. This totally disincentivises bounty hunting as a gameplay style for newer players.

The PvP ladder will be dominated by the highest level players and the very lowest level players. The lowest level players (below level 15) will be able to hit the widest array of new accounts that have no FSP to spend on bounty tickets, not to mention all the recently started multi accounts that will be nothing but PvP cows to be milked every week. The highest level players (over lvl 900) will harvest PvP points off the best Bounty hunter/PvPers without actually being good at PvP. In fact, if a high level player (let's say ~lvl 932) gets on the bounty board, he will actually gain PvP rating from all the people who lose to him. As a player of this level, getting bountied is actually a reward because they will gain more PvP rating from all the failed attacks before the bounty is finally completed.


I want to point out a specific example from my own experience. I accepted a bounty on a well buffed lvl 426 player today for 10 kills. My PvP rating was 1105 and his was 997 at the start of the bounty. I cleared the bounty as a level 32 player losing about 6 combats and winning 10 with him changing gear a few times and I adjusted my setup in return. After clearing the bounty, I received 50 PvP points and my final PvP rating was 1069 for a net loss of 36 PvP rating.

Now, I know that I can saw that at minimum, 95% of the players in the game could not have completed this same bounty, with this degree of difficulty, at this level with my equipment and buffs. I could be the best PvPer in the game taking on bounties on players more than 100 times my level but this current PvP Ladder system will never reward me or anyone like me at the lower levels appropriately.



Addendum:
Let's say I took the 160 stam I used for the bounty hunt and instead attacked 16 random players in my level range who had "virgin" PvP ratings of 1000. If I had chosen the weakest and easiest targets, I would have won all 16 combats and my PvP rating would have gone from 1105 to 1185. I would have a higher PvP rating but that would not reflect how good or how bad I am as a PvPer.

it seems to me that we lose too much pvp ratings when we lose and we could gain a little more ratings when we do win but thats my opinion

i mean like i got to the the top 18 i lost three times and now im off the top 50

i guess it would be inportant to know i had the buff gloat activated but not honor when i lost but my opponents did not have honor on either

I told you this was not going to work, Having people post 20 hits and costing me 98 bounty tickets and then i lose exp because of deflect, or some other nonesense. for 5000 gold, is lunacy. You made it cheap on bounty tickets to hit someone 200 or 400 levels above me, apparently 1 bounty ticket from what i can see. Thats assuming i can hit them. I told you, tie in the stamina of a hit to the FSP cost of the bounty. This is not so hard, it makes it personal, it brings the bite back to the bounty board, it give people what they want from the bounty board, 3 fsp's mean 30 stamina hits, 10 fsps meant 100 stamina hits, and anybody that takes up the bounty within 15 minutes of its posting is immune from a counter bounty after that you are on your own...

if you are going to work on pvp, then take the bounty board off, give it another compartment to work on later, and fix pvp. then work on the bounty board. its up to seven pages now and growing, no bounties less then an fsp seem to be taken,

Hi all,

I've been reading over the feedback so far and here are my thoughts...

I think we should ditch the idea of the loyalty potion that protects from PvP. I wasn't overly sold on this idea in the first place to be honest.

Rubbish. You noticed that some of these changes are frowned upon by PvPers? We care about all our players to say otherwise is foolish. Remember, this is a PvP game. If you feel someone is abusing you, contact Support.


BG said it himself, thus there never will be a silly PvP opt out.
