When?

How often?

And how many bounties have you completed?
It only took once, and I am 8% from my bounty master silver. :) I used to have a PvP rating of about 2200, and was on the top rated list. :)
So you've cleared about 180 bounties, give or take a few.

Out of all that, you've had it happen once - I've cleared over 550, lost on at least 200, and never been 100 stammed because of a legit 10 stam clear. I've been countered, sure, and 100 stammed, but not for 10 stam love taps.

As for your rating - that in itself provides a clue.

Last question - were PM's involved in this little party? Did you have prior history with the person you cleared?

That sort of thing can definitely play a role.

Limiting stamina usage on counters is fixing a problem that barely exists, if at all.

I've been attempted delevel for clearing a guilds founder, they took 3 levels, so guess i was deleveled, but thus far haven't had 5 taken yet. There thought was I hit their Guild founder, but didn't he hit someone to get on the bounty board?

I had no prior history with the person I cleared. But apparently I had prior history with the friend of a friend of a friend of the party I cleared. And no, I don't trash talk. :)
How does a PvP rating of about 2200 provide any clues? And to what does that provide clues? I had a PvP rating of over 2100 until about a week ago, when I cleared a bounty for a "friend" and lost 90 points to him. I still had a PvP rating over 2k when they did the rating reset.

When, exactly, did this happen? Last week, or last year?

I'm truly only trying to get as complete a picture as possible here.

The 100 stam counter-bounty was a year ago. :) But what does that have to do with it? :)

That it's been quite a while, and that things like that are extremely rare?

In short, you want an eventuality that has less than a 1% chance of happening to limit every player's ability to use their stamina how they see fit in PvP situations.

The restrictions outweigh the benefits.

If the guild founder was placed on the bounty board for "revenge" attacking in defense of a guild mate who was...ummmm...PvP'd, the guild may have thought you shouldn't have hit without finding out the facts. But, that was done in the more polite society of FS. :)

It never happened again, because I stopped clearing anything but "safe" bounties for friends. :) If I had continued to clear bounties randomly as I did then, I am sure it would have happened again. :)

in light of the recent pvp changes, if something as insignificant as a pvp rating can fubar every aspect of pvp (from bounties to inactives), maybe its best to just scrap the rating all together.

Rewards for high pvp ratings are bound to be exploited to be gotten. Players who pvp are already rewarded with gold, xp fluctuation, potential bounty rewards, and now prestige. How much more incentive is necessary?

I've never let who was the target stop me from accepting or clearing a bounty, except in very limited war situations.

It's never happened to me, or to anyone that I communicate with on a regular basis.

Some of them have been countered, and have been 100 stammed, but none of them were countered and hit without some reason.

Of course, the fact that I've seen you be very condescending, even here in this forum, might indicate that while you may feel that you're not trash talking or being rather rude, it can - and does - come across that way.

Hi all,

To summise what is being discussed in the other thread - here is what we are currenly look at doing - note this isn't set in stone however - please continue to discuss it on this thread.

Suggested Changes to PvP Ladder

1) Make the ending time random to prevent last minute attempts to boost the PvP rating.

2) Change the bounty board back so that all PvP hits confer a rating adjustment rather than just the final completer of the bounty.

3) Apply a reduction in PvP rating transfer to bounties, dependant on how much higher the attacking player is above the bounty target.

4) Remove stamina limitations from bounties.

All these points are still up for discussion however - please discuss here :)

~ The Fallen Sword Team

Like them all, and my favorite is number 3 (about time!).

Does open the door for players popping in just for rating (one or two hits and then bolt), but with stamina limitations removed players can call up some allying and slap the poser down a bit.

I do not think there is a perfect fix for PvP rating, but your effort and acting on players comments is very much appreciated.

It hasn't happened to me yet, and I've cleared 530 bounties.

Yes, there I go again. I believe you wish to materially harm the portion of the game I care most about, ev. As a result, I'm going to point out the flaws in your thinking and in your arguments. You yourself admitted you were being intentionally rude to me in a prior thread, and whether or not you intended it to be that way, I can definitely see where you might have rubbed someone else the wrong way. That is the full breadth and scope of what my commentary was addressing, nothing more, and nothing less.

I've cleared ~825 bounties, and I can tell you, if you're going to bounty hunt at all, be ready for retaliation, no matter how stupid it may be. I used +/- 4000 stamina last night doing bounties. Did 9 bounties at one time last night (losing 2 by less then 10 sec each), and just from clearing those bounties i was bounties 5-7 times (not sure of number) and lost 2 1/2 levels. (and leveled in the mean time). So if you're afraid of losing any exp at all, then don't bounty hunt. Thanks

PS. I refuse to vote on this.

Honestly I think it would be best for the Bountier to decide the appropriate Minimum Stamina required and that per 'x' amount of Stamina requested per hit would cost 'x' amount of gold i.e. 10 Stam. 25k, 20 Stam. 50k, 30 Stam. 75k and so on (granted these are just examples). That way the person posting the Bounties will get the results they are seeking.

I am sorry,Gravely. But did you ever think that maybe PvPing with 100 stam attacks off the bounty board to gain PvP rating, or prestige points or even gold or XP for cake is materially harming the portion of the game I care most about? Now, I am not saying that you personally go around 100 stamming "levelers", but that is what it has come to. And you are not pointing out any flaws in anything, you are being irritating. And if you weren't so irritating because you respond to posts without reading them in their entirety, then perhaps you wouldn't be so irritating. :) And what's more, I wasn't even posting on the forums a year ago. :)

Please start a new thread. Again.

I did - I don't see the relevance of your post?

Still not likeing 3.

It should work both ways.
Higher lvls gain less off lower lvls.
Lower lvls gain less off higher lvls.

dont you think lower levels should gain MORE off higher levels?  i mean i see alot of ppl that say they beat higher levels >.> lol so say for like each level higher you get +2 more rating or something

He said less and he means less. And it's how it should be. It's about the balance of a global system not what an individual thinks he should get.
