I was told, some days ago, that someone was using me to participate in this contest and eventually win the pot. I can see it's true because, in fact, one of the avi's in contest was ordered to and made by me. I'm not here to claim that, since it doesnt really bother me, i'm just clearing some facts.
I was led into very specific instructions when that avi was ordered (never thought it was ordered to be a contestant here), that i see now dont really fit the purpose of the contest. For that reason, I decided, exceptionally, to participate in this avatar's contest and pull my best to come up with my own entry.
So, here it is:
RENDER >> AVATAR

Update: Well, nevermind that. Unfortunately the best 'renders' I've found to work with either had a copywrite on them (on other sites, but I'm not going to steal them because someone else cropped off the copywrite-it's still binding) or weren't quite what was needed. After the guy in the gold and lime green thong, Roman-style helm, but with lime green trim, and inline skates, I'm afraid to look any further.
Maybe next time. In any case, best of luck to you in getting what you're looking for.

Once the avatar is sold & paid for in full, all right are transferred to the new owner.
What you are doing is as tasteful as claiming a vintage car used to belong to you after it's won an auto show.
Well, it bothers me that some avatar makers have no professional conduct. If it wins, HIS avatar won, NOT yours. I'm just here to clarify some facts too.

I have to desagree. If that entry won the guy who bought it will gain the FSPs(what will be a shame if he receives anything for what he didn´t made) but the win goes to HitcHorusHi all!

This contest is to pick the best avatar for Turins Companions, it's not a talent contest.
Many Elvis songs belonged to Micheal Jackson(and now his family) and ALL proceeds of the songs go to them.
Intellectual property rights belongs to the owners, which may not be the creators.

Hmm, what´s the name of the people who bought it? The credits and fame still belong to Michael Jackson
You are confused. MJ bought the rights to certain Elvis songs, and if someone whats to sing those Elvis songs again, or use it commercially, the proceeds from the rental of rights would go to MJ family now that he is gone.(If they have not sold the right) Not the song writer, and not Elvis the original singer's decedents. That is the law.
Just as the FSP will go to the person who owns the avatar, not the creator.
I'm sure TC will be more interested to own the winning avatar which can be transferred only by it's current owner, not the creator.
If the creator wants to claim the avatar, he should not have sold it.

They don't own the rights to the work for competition purposes, they own the avatar for their personal use to wear.
Entering an avatar made by someone else into a competition is just wrong.

Could any of you accusers face up to the original animator/illustrator/fontographers if he popped up on this thread,
right here,
right now,
and asked you
"What the hell are you doing, stealing my picture!"
.... anyone?
...anyone at all even obtained permission for using their pictures?
I like most other avatarist borrow artwork from the original creators. As such I do not lay claim that it is entirely my work nor any claims of originality, much less dare to lay claim to an avatar once it's sold.
Please look yourselves in the mirror before casting the first stone. it would be prudent to hold yourself to the highest standards of creativity & originality before deciding to cast the first stone on plagiarism.
I'll say no more. Apologies to Soli for digressing.

True we may not own the images or the font but we have permission from the maker to use it in our works.Reality check. How many of you avatarist here actually illustrate all your avatars from scratch, creating even the fonts yourself? I'll take stick from anyone that does.

Wearing rights(Default) - You are only allowed to wear it. You can not take credit for making it or use it again or Edit it in anyway !
Learning rights - You can use the Psd to learn and view how the artist has made the specific piece. However you can not reuse any layer or the whole piece for your own or claim that it is yours
Full rights - You can do anything you like with it. Edit it ...resale it.. say that you made it... Rip it ! -.-
and when we use the 'Fonts' or 'Backgrounds' from the internet .. Why do you think people uploaded them ? It's for others to use ! It's like giving Full rights to everyone for free ! But if the same image is on Deviantart.com then you need the permission of the artist to use it. and the artist has full right to offend .. When we make something from a pre made background we do not claim that we made the background do we ? Nor do we sell the background as it is and charge for it (Even if we accept that it is not made by us) .. If we find it for free we make it in a pack and share for free.
Buddy I tell you do not make statements against the artists in a Graphics section of a forum.. You will be ....mmm.....

Seriously? You're going to start this bullsh!t again? Why dont you find something else to do besides coming in here and telling us what we make is unoriginal. You obviously havent been here in the graphics section long enough to know that when someone buys something from an artist here it is not theirs to use as they please, it is for their own personal use as an avatar or sig or whatever they may have ordered. You dont know what you're talking about because you dont know how things work here. So unless you plan on making an entry I suggest you not start arguments for no other reason than to breed conflict.
Sorry Soli, but this is the second time this guy has started this and I'm fed up with it.
