Yes, of course. I went all this time without realizing I hadn't explained my total idea. Whoops! :oops:If you're going to start adding donator-only rewards they need to be bound. FSP is their current reward which they can use to acquire expensive equipment without doing the work. They can also buy tons of upgrades. You also need to establish what a donator is. Is it based on monthly purchases? Total purchase amount?
Let's take an existing Inferno Hammer and a new Ice Hammer (same stats) as an example.
Alright... HCS first introduces a new resource that is put into your mailbox when you donate. This player-bound resource extracts at 100% rate to a new player-bound component.
Then, HCS also introduces new recipes that anyone (donator or not) can buy at a shop. These recipes require the Inferno Hammer (in this example), and 1 (or possibly more) of the new components. 100% invention rate on this, too, and, presto, you have a new player-bound Ice Hammer (in this example).
They'd probably start with the Epics and work their way down through Legendaries, Crystalline, Super Elites, etc.
I think this would be a good strategy, first, because it is a slight gold sink with the recipes. Second, it's a bit of an item sink, in that, while you have the same functional gear you did before, it's out of the AH, because it's player-bound. So, AH prices would go up, which would please the merchants.
So, anyone who wants to flaunt their "donator" status can do so, but if you don't, you simply don't make the new items. Both donators and non-donators would still have a level playing field, since the items wouldn't change stats, so anyone with an Ice Hammer has no functional advantage over someone with an Inferno Hammer. It's just, if you donate, you can add a little "flair" to your character, if you choose to do so.
