I could deal with that.

However, forcing people to unassign level up points has the advantage of allowing them to reassign them wherever they want. You messed up and put a single point into attack, lose a level and reassign it. If someone was really devoted, and gained and lost a lot of levels, they could switch their level up points around in large quantities. This would give PvPers some flexibility in where they assign their points.

That's why the "remove 2 points from the biggest pile without asking" approach could work fine.

But what if you dont want to remove points from your largest stat? I am suggesting this to give players a fairly simple way to correct mistakes made while allocating points as well as giving PvPers some, albeit slight, advantage over people who avoid that aspect of the game entirely.

Don't lose levels, then :).

Speaking selfishly, I would like this option, too - if I make a mistake during assignment, all I have to do is end the hunt exactly after a level up, stash gold, accidentally lose, unassign the mistake and go kill sixty rats on the way to relic to get killstreak back up. But I expect that Hoof would not approve a change that goes against paid upgrades...

I wouldnt say it goes against paid upgrades. In order to reassign all my points from damage to attack for example, I would have to lose 604 levels. Thats definitely not as easy as it sounds. The stamina sink from people deleveling me, and from me attacking others to be bountied would be enormous. They would well make up for the slight amount of people not using the LUP reset, by people buying bounty tickets.

Are you sure on that? I ask because I know a couple of people that have been up on the board in the past week multiple times, have been 100 stam hit a lot of those time, and there virtual level and actual level never changed.

This is a curiosity question as I am not familiar with the mechanics of that.

Absolutely, 100% positive that's how it works.

There's a LOT of people who started playing the game without having sound advisors in their guild. The sound advice (for levellers, that is) is to put every point into damage because these points are the ones they'll be able to multiply by buffs the most (Fu175+Be350 = 0.875 of base increase, that's by far the best deal even if the stat points were otherwise "equal" in usefullnes, which they are not).

There's some old accounts that followed old advice of about 80 points in attack (back in the days when there was no DC and loads of gear and other bonuses and creep defense was a serious problem sometimes).

These all are potential users of the LUP reset upgrade - and given it's cost, I'm sure that many of them would try to avoid paying.

(I'm just playing the devil's advocate. I would not oppose to such "feature" even though I haven't misclicked even once so far... I just think Hoof wouldn't approve)

rofl, seems to me the non-pvpers are the ones abusing this system and making all these threads suddenly be posted..i don't see one pvper in the top 18 on the last ladder and only one in the top ten on the new "pvp ladder"

You need to get your eyes tested Moon :P

I'm a PvP'er and I was 4th in the last ladder :)

right, and im a chicken sandwich

The LUP thing is an easy fix. Let's say Player A is level 200 and has 50 points in each of ATK, DEF, ARM, and HP, and 200 points in DMG. If Player A gets de-leveled once, his DMG points are reduced by 2, due to that stat having the most LUPs. However, the LUP screen, instead of showing 198 for DMG, shows 200 - 2; this signifies that the highest amount of LUPs assigned to DMG was 200, and it has been reduced by 2. That value would function as 198 for gameplay, naturally.

Then the next time Player A gains a level, those re-gained 2 LUPs are automatically assigned back to DMG (the stat they were taken out of).

If more than one stat is tied for the highest, take 1 point from two of them (randomly determined if there are three or more). Actually, you could make the lost LUPs random instead of from the highest stat; I'm not sure which would be a greater punishment.

This would prevent circumventing the paid upgrade, while making a delevel a bit of a punishment.

Also, if a level 700 player has skill points assigned to a level 700 buff, and then gets deleveled to 699, the same thing applies. All skill points are de-assigned from that buff, but they are held in limbo (i.e. unable to be assigned to any other skill). Then when the player reaches level 700 again, the held skill points are automatically re-assigned to that skill.
