I'm a newbie in a great guild. Another member was in a conflict and I joined it, thinking I was helping by attacking some of the other guild's members that I could defeat. I truly hope I've apologized enough to the other player, the guild founder, etc, so they don't boot me out. But, I never found out why what I did was wrong. The other player told me to never join in a conflict. What did I do wrong; why was it so wrong? When is it OK to join in a guild conflict to help? So confused and soooo embarrassed... :(

Well, if you're new and have no clue what you're doing, then there may be a problem. Next time ask them if they could let you join and learn up about GvG/PvP gear.

If you lose a combat, then you could lose the conflict for your guild. That's why so many get antzy about it.

I did ask to join the guild; they accepted and that's how I became a member. I've been reading everything that I can get my hands on during the day, and only playing late at night. I always check the other guild player's profile, comparing everything between us such that I have confidence that I should win (and I always have - I guess I have been extremely lucky, thankfully).

If I'm understanding you correctly, a single loss by any member of my guild, other than the first to the fight, during a conflict against another guild's member loses the whole conflict for my guild. I've already promised to never, ever join another conflict, so I should have no more problems with potentially incurring a loss for us. Seems odd that the conflict shows that 4 players can enter a conflict; perhaps this is something that should change, or at least be prominent on the guild conflict page? Seems a bit unfair that only one player in our guild can fight another guild with a large number of members.

I've also promised to only hunt so that the guild gets the tax for each creature I kill. I also voluntarily give the guild FSPs and gold. I hope to find in my reading what else I can do for my guild, someday. There must be something - I just haven't found that in my reading, yet. I also buy/upgrade all of my own gear. I never touch anything in the guild store. I see other members putting things in the store and taking items out. That ability sure would help me a lot at times. I hope to find that answer, too. As I play late, not too many other members of my guild are on. I was having a nice chat with the member I made so mad after I did all of the things he said I must do to maybe not get booted for goofing up when I was trying to help (I'm afraid to go over and look, I may have been booted, anyway). Then, he asked how old I was (I have grandkids approaching their teens and also became permanently disabled recently), and that was the end of that. So, besides never entering a conflict, not touching store items, I think I learned this is a younger person's game. But, I really like it, anyway. Guess I'll just be an old, gray, lone wolf. :)

Thanks so very much for the answer. I appreciate it. Every tidbit from this forum and other things I read really helps! :D

Oh multiple people can technically join a conflict. Guilds just have rules about attacking and joining in on them. I'm guessing your guildies freaked out about it, but don't let that dishearten you though. :)

I have the feeling that greed may come into play here, if your guild pays for gvg wins then they people could see this as you trying to get fsp for less work.

Your guild doesn't sounds too fun  , looks like they pay people to farm RP.

I've been doing GvG for quite a while, and usually I don't mind someone assisting me in a conflict (provided they know what they're doing). It gets the job done faster  .

If there was only a way to turn GvG into a team based game, right now it's PvG. :\

True competitive GvG is a team thing. Without your buddies you're more likely to burn out or lose.
