Now, I realise I am going to get flamed for this, but what did people expect when HCS started to turn FS into a more pvp oriented game? I'm sure some people will deny the correlation but in truth, I stopped my arguments a while ago, I figured I'd let the numbers speak for themselves.

Look at what has become of the game, what did people honestly expect? Did they truly think that all the people who had no interest in pvp would suddenly get into it? Because of a few rewards??

during times i've been a leveler my reserve of free fsp steadily rises - say 5 to 10 fsp per hunt

the times i've dabbled in PvP my reserve likely will decline - as i'm not using treasure hunter or merchant earning gold to buy fsp in marketplace, instead using/selling fsp to buy PvP buffs and pots

and i'm not using my stam rushing to EOC

meaning - a more PvP oriented game...maybe, idk...means more income for HCS even though there are less players, and less work coming up with new content?

the higher numbers may just have been the casual players, playing for free, and not "donating"

I don't ever remember the game hitting 4300 players, even on Legendary events, especially not on just random days.

Good point. I don't either. 3k during pre-announced Legendary events was max. Normal is 1500. Not much has changed. the gloom and doomers love pointing at what they don't like as reasons for a supposed downturn in the number of players.

Eh, bury your heads in the sand all you want. As the numbers steadily decline, I wonder if it will eventually come to light as to why some people don't play as much or continue to play once they start.

there are more competition now as well, and you should expect some drop. market is evolving, and why cows are working hard on eldevin. there is still a nice niche market for FS/SS2 type game though. with cost of bandwidth coming down, they can milk these game for many a years.

ss2 is more geared toward lvl/questers while FS is turning more toward pvprs. biggest downside of FS is the time it takes to lvl. most players will not invest 3+ year to get to EOC. frankly being at EOC is not a bad thing when game is as mature as this IMHO. may be added side attraction that uses stam is not a bad thing.

I retired from SS2 at the top of content after a terrible update was applied. I have a couple of times considered going back, but I have not been able to get into the game as moving forward is just painful.

On FS, I can burn 40-50k in an hour. easy. the problem for new players is rushing to reach the end of content. It's a very steep hill to climb and requires significant investment.
