http://forum.fallens...rena arena wish
I'll Just give you all snapshot of what the arena it looked like at about 07:00 Servertime, so we can discuss (im leaving out gold/moves tournaments)
lvl 843-592 (^ 250 levels) :5 Tournies
All Recipes
lvl 583-391 (^ 200 levels) :3 Tournies
Shockwave lvl 80 Pot (lol)
Codex
3 Recipes
lvl 291-124 (^ 170 levels) :3 Tournies
CA lvl 100 pot (lol)
Gold Haggis
Judges Gavel
lvl 96-0 (^ 100 levels) :9 Tournies
Arthfaels Claw
Stone Figurine
Extractor lvl 35 Pot (lol)
Greater Sanctuary lvl 100
Globe of azrah
Stone Figurine
Stone Cask
Crown of Umber
Death Dealer 40 Potion (lol)
What do you guys think? Personally its not just the ratio of recipes to components that frustrates me. But also the amounts of tournies at the lower levels, from what I can see most arena players are medium to higher levels. Yes some of them compete at the lower levels but many of us dont.
I know we have 25 tournies per "group" prizes/gold/moves..........maybe the 25 can be subdivided so we have an equal number in certain level ranges. (suggested in previous thread: see link above)
I think if we kept all the previous arena inventable recipes/components and drew from this large pool for the current tournaments we wouldn't have the glut in the AH we have now. Because even if the sets are "mediocre" they'd be relatively rare and they'd attract interest.
Anyway interested in peoples thoughts (and yes I was bored as well as frustrated LOL)
I hope im not coming across as a whiner.

did they not promise something and said it would be done the next day and yet we are still waiting.
just like the level 1000 buffs.
i have spoke to a few players and they feel HCS are trying to get as much cash as possible before running this game to the ground in time for there new release.

We made our suggestions ... FROM looong time viewtopic.php?f=1&t=95942We are looking at ways to invigorate the arena, and looking at your suggestions. Also dont worry - the game is in no way going to be destroyed by any other new release the company brings out.

Yes, I know you're busy working on Christmas and other new and end of year content, but Grim led us to believe that these types of changes were very simple. Could you please at give us some "hope" that you will address these issues in some kind of a time frame? Thanks!!

As a little example...try to imagine. Arena components to invent very good sets are famous for bringing a lot of fsp, so you join them. Let's take this Iron Needle, you pay 231k entry fee (imagine joining 10-50 arenas a day or even more) as 1 out of 16 players. After as a starting player you won all your combat moves, you are not allowed to use them (like in most other arenas) and apart from maybe just a few players everybody is either stacking Armor or Defense resulting in very exciting combats in which either nobody hits or both opponents do 60 times 1 damage, hoping that at some stage a 2% kicks in.
Now let's assume you get lucky and directly win this components. To make the set you need a recipe for the items. These entries are also 231k to join.....but that doesn't matter, you can get them in the ah for 1 fsp. After learning the recipes you see the large amount of other components and items you need, which is fine when the set is going to be very good of course. Especially also as the rate of succes is below average.
So, you decide to better sell the component, after all it would be strange to be so lucky to win all component in a reasonable time and with winning some other components you might afford yourself such a set. And then the shock comes, after all these efforts you can sell your component for a massive 5 fsp....so to conclude, why would you join these arenas :? !
PS Dale....don't forget, there was no year included when changes are soon to be made!

Why don't you try to join the Arena for a while to see the situation from a player point of view instead of the Cow one.

+1
This is exactly the frustration those of us "Arena Addicts" are feeling more and more. Ive said it in other threads these new sets just ain't that flash and they could have done more for the SE hunting scene also:-(
The mixture of components is pretty confusing too. Pre new le sets in the arena a Xind Imperial item, twisted cherub, balaurs, dragon rings.etc..etc.. were all still fetching reasobale prices in AH (even after multiple scavenges) Now previously "valuable" sets like deep/mancrusha sell PFF well below forge cost at times. It would have made more sense to have these LE sets or many others used.
Then the SE ingredients....even with the poor drop rate on Malphy, the limited use of the set to level with the 1.5 EW.....the prices on malphas was still respectable. But No we include it as an ingredient and now & its price in AH is 5 times the "new components" used to invent it LOL (btw using 2 malphy drops - Stroke of genius there)
Why couldn't you use one or two "new" components & one malphy drop and 3 samurai/lishka/cockatrice/Carapaces etc.. etc..bring the interest in many of the "dead" SE's..sorry cows but you had a real chance to reinvigorate the arena AND SE hunting.
I think the problem with a lot of this lies in only having a "rough" idea as to what needs to be done (the right balance in a lot of these things seems to be off because the cows don't play it enough)
I can understand why they wouldn't play much (it's like chef coming home from work and not wanting to cook dinner - that sort of thing) BUT ALL the devs need to do is get more specific input from us "just before you implement" something. The be prepared to make adjustments quickly until a final workable solution is found.
In short, if you are going to change and fix something, KEEP DOING IT UNTIL ITS REALLY FIXED or don't bother at all.
Certainly don't just tell us what we want to hear for the sake of shutting us up short term, you know in the long run we will always be less satisfied & complain more LOL.
Sorry about the rant again. I DO sometimes feel that we complain a little too much and i think on certain things this is true.
But it' just so very disappointing when an aspect(s) of the game you LOVE has a chance to be fixed properly, by people whom have shown they have the ability....yet somehow the chance just slips on by.

Numerous proposals for tweaks in arena.
A solid arena that is alive= good for the whole game. Right now part of why game is dying is the horrific state of arena. Not a single tourney to join that is not moves or recipes 300-700 last I checked.
