If you're good, you can use Paint and make a better artwork than PS.

Using an outdated cheap medium doesn't make you a better artist. It is how you use the tools you have and what you can do with them. If someone uses paint instead of some other program and comes up with something that looks cool then good for them. It is no better than someone who uses photoshop or gimp and comes up with the same thing.

This goes for all artists using all art mediums. (However, the amount of work put into the art should reflect in the price according to the audience that the artist is trying to attract.)

Whoa guy, you are talking nonsense. ):
It's not really about the tools to use. Sure, if it's that easy go ahead, use paint, do an outstanding signature, be claimed as god. But, even knowing how to use crayons & paper, or Paint, or Gimp, or Photoshop CS7X Picasso/Leonardo Limited Platinum Edition, you might fail if you don't have this.. sense of creativity, which is actually what is being sold at here. Because not everyone has it.

Graphics market will prevail.

Like Milo said it's not about the tools you use. It's about creativity and how much of yourself your willing to put into it. If you don't have the creativity or are willing to put part of yourself into it ,then it won't matter if you have the best program out there or the worst.

@ OP
No wonder you think people can make great avis with an avi like yours. Maybe you should browse around the forums and look at real graphic manipulation. Than you will have a different opinion, if not then I challenge you to make a piece as great as one of them using any software you want.

It really doesn't matter what program you use, as long as you're comfortable with it and can get the results you want. For example I use a program called Picture-it! 99 (yes, there is ! in the name of it) which has been discontinued for years. It is what I'm comfortable using, what I like using and so it is what I work in. It does have drawbacks. Working files save as .mix rather than .psd so I can't share them with people unless they have the same program. However, what I've just done is made an avatar, and saved png files of each stage of the avatar as I was creating it so you can see various steps throughout its creation if anyone cares to have a look at the progression from start to finish.
