I cant say 100% on the board from exp. bro but in PvP I do know its 500, I would hope the same applies on the BB.

You misunderstand, met. My proposal would mean that if I hit you while you're offline and I get 100 rating from you, that doesn't prove dominance. In any way. It simply means I can read a basic stat setup and gank an undefended player.
You would have 24 hours to hit me back. If I had 1000 rating prior to hitting you, and no one else defeated me, you would get back 100 rating should you choose to hit me back. If I had gained rating in the interim, you would get back potentially more than 100 rating. If I had been defeated and lost rating, you would still be able to get your rating back, assuming they had not crashed completely in rating. No matter what, you would still get back a minimum of 50% of what you lost, so long as you engaged within 24 hours.
If you bounty, any ability to revenge hit is given up.
Its not Gross and Unfair man its FUN... I cant believe you want to only battle ONCE every 24 hours?? Dam lol :shock:
Who said I don't enjoy smacking someone hourly, or having someone try to do it to me? I just don't think rating should transfer if someone decides they're some sort of PvP god and happens to start stamming me at 11:00 AM in the morning, when I won't have access to a computer for the next 10 hours. How is it dominant to take hundreds of rating with no risk of losing anywhere near that much, simply because you have more access to the game?
Step back, for a moment. Trying to engage and be engaged for hours on end IS fun. I used to have the time to do it. But ask yourself this - the Cows want us to donate. In order to donate, the players need money. If, in order to be successful at the game, people can't work in order to get money to donate, either people won't have the money to donate or they will conclude that the game is not worth the effort required to be successful. Neither equation is good for the Cows or the game in the long run. This is part of why GvG has in large part withered down to multis farming each other and newbs at the beginning of the game.
Well, this will be a tourney where you choose to participate. You will hit just as much as your opponent.. Its something different from regular pvp all together.. but still not..
Points for effort, my dear. But you said it yourself - it's not PvP.

wut? 24 hour rule is great. It's to prevent excessive trading. Perhaps you should think about the system as a whole? Perhaps you could suggest changes, there's a very obvious one that could be done in order for the 24 hour to be on each player's attack.
And stop using large font sizes.
24 hour sucks.. if you PvP.
Grab some glasses I did suggest changes just above the one I just posted.
I am thinking about´the system as a whole, if you ever PvPed, and are hitting one who would drop you 5 levels for a single attack then you would have a clue about why the the 24 hour rule sucks for those who like to do their own dirty work.
I speak for those who PvP, not just talk about it.. or do it on occasion or need a guild of killers to speak and fight for them.. Player verses Player...
Deal with it or don´t, no sweat off my hairy back.
If you had a clue, you would realize my rating doesn't matter.
Hitting someone 7 times in a row while someone sleeps is hardly dominance.

7 levels down to counterbounties
current rating 982
6000 stam wasted
And I wont get a single token this round. This is not whining or emo, just how I tried to doi it non cynically.
100 stams+ gloat is the only way to do it, except trading.
1 person hit back with a 10 stam tap . 60% of the rest bountied.
PVP needs to be promoted in this game. Thats a even bigger problem than the tokens.

I promised myself not to post on this subject again, but here we go...
In my opinion no matter how much you tweak a basically flawed system, you will never get it right. You'll either end up not solving much at all or you will solve a lot of things but PvP rating wont be be an indication of PvP activity, skill, effort or whatever.. You will basically just move the problem around.
What I find really sad about all of this is that players have started separating PvP and bounty hunting, while in my opinion the most real and live PvP you can get in this game is on the board with both opponents online and somewhat close in level. Not much challenge in hitting an unsuspecting target off the board really..
So, how about a different suggestion?
Make a REAL PvP arena similar to how the BB works.
- Each player have 5 hits each and they switch on being attacker/defender.
- You choose a tourney within your level range (ranges can be 50-100 levels maybe?). Say, 8-10 players can enter each tourney and the game will randomly pick who is to fight who.
- Opponent and level remains anonymous until the tourney is over, you can only see stats and buffs.
- Deflect will be banned from the tournament.
- Remove rating from everywhere else in the game. If a player havent done a tourney within the last 6 hours their rating will decay by 10 every 6 hours.
- Minor or no XP loss.
Let the flaming begin.

I cant argue with this at all Kj except that a lot of risk is taken out of it. little to no xp loss and no bounty does kinda bother me but everything else here could work. Rye also had a idea that sorta reminds me of this >> viewtopic.php?f=7&t=98827 <<

a bit necro quoting as it was a few months ago, but could it work?
What about something like this for PvP points:
A new feature: "Enter PvP Combat"
You click it and set the level range you prefer: +/-5, +/-10, +/-15, +/-25, +/-50, +/-100.
You will be randomly paired by the sistem to another player who entered a PvP Combat (and you both have to be in the prefered range), and you cant be paired to the same player for "x" days
The combat starts with set you had when you entered the combat, and who attacks first is random.
The Combat lasts for 5 attacks each (1 attack per minute, so the total lenght is 10 minutes).
Before every attack (but not the first one), you can change items, but no more than 3 times in all the combat duration.
Each attack uses 10 stamina, all buffs are allowed and work as in game, but once the combat has started you cant add any buff (and you cant buff your oppenent).
The winner is rewarded with PvP points according to level difference and PvP points difference.
After 7 days you dont enter any combat, your PvP points will decrease (and so every 7 days)
Maybe working on all similar suggestions in forum its easier than trying to fix the ladder as it is now

Fine. The let the XP loss be as normal and let the participants bounty each other.. lol Idont care, I just dont see the point in it if it worked like this. The risk is in losing rating and losing the tourney, and with the decay even highly ranked players will be forced to keep participating to defend their spot. Honestly, PvP rating has never been a significant part of PvP before they introduced the ladder rewards some time ago. The ones who cared about it was mostly point traders. I would like to either see it removed from the game or taken out of regular PvP and into a system like this where they actually earn it.

Not 'maybe' - it IS the case. And just because it works for you does not mean it doesn't need fixing.
just get rid of gloat and honor, everyone's on a level playing field for gaining rating (just depends of amount of targets now)
Errr - no it's NOT a level playing field (see Celendais' post above). Did you not read the rest of the 3 threads concerning this?

You assume much, that I hit players that are all off line... I constantly hit active players in the find player option. Many in my level range will attest to that. Don´t confuse me with a farmer.
And I guess I have a clue because your right your rating doesn't matter lol

I see what your sayen bro... how about this for a compromise. 24 Hour Rule / BUT you can ALSO hit if the player is active. They become un-hittable after 15 minutes and hittable after they are online for 15 minutes. That would at least let those like myself and other PvP players Battle when we want. Against friends and enemies.
Also keep in mind you can attack players off-line every 2 minutes on the BB lol

HCS has extremly limited those who have spent alot of their time playing Fallen Sword with the new PVP ladder updates. Currently low levels (multies mainly but not all) dominate the ladder. Lower levels have a huge number of targets to attack while higher levels are very limited. My suggestion is to allow the Gloat buff to take rating no matter what level your target is. Another suggestion from my friend Kit is to allow 100 stams to take rating no matter what the level difference is. Doing either option is a high risk to the attacker since both will most likely result in a bounty since both are frowned upon in the game.
Personally I like my idea best, but hey ho... altering gloat like that isn't to bad an idea either.. as long as that is all it does.
