Last time it didnt worked, i cant remember it exactly but it was a "new recruit = 1 point" contest. And it became just "who makes more multi?" contest.
What if they awarded points for the contest only when your recruits upgrade their character?
So, for example, your recruit upgrades + stamina gain and you get 2 points, or +1 backpack slot and you get 1 one point and so on?
If the prize is not too much valuable, we wouldnt have cheating and maybe a few more players

Um, people have been getting hit in pvp and gvg for a really long time, no? Including when the numbers were better than now. I don't think it's fair to try and blame pvp.
not in the scale that seems to be going on now
with the PvP-ladder and GvG beeing worth something in the game... just a year ago (or is my timescale off?) all GvG would get you was buffpacks and PvP would get you some gold and a medal
now there are complaints every week here in the forum about abuse of both system with multi-accounts - and the ones getting hit over and over again are the new players (and other multis that don't care)...
i have no idea how much people are getting hit (and i'm not going to create a new account and try) but if the multi problem is real my guess is they will be hit alot
and if i was a new player trying a game for the first time and i was beeing hit 10 times every day i think i would loose interest very quick... and move on to another game
so the problem isn't really the PvP... it's the amount of PvP a new player receives because of the multis created to abuse the PvP and GvG system...
a very simple solution, you are not allowed to hit other players or be hit by other players until you are level 25 or have played for a month whatever happends first
a very simple solution 2: the cows could start to monitor IPs and ban/investigate multi accounts without someone reporting it

+1 bunnybee. I think there was MORE pvp and MORE hardcore pvp in the old days. Peeps dont do guild delevels as much as before and so on.
i'm sure there was, but not towards level 1-5 players....

yes no pvp/gvg before level 25 or 1 month is a good call.
for pvp, maybe just no ladder before 25 (even before 50) is enough.
but for gvg ive to agree, i cant be sure, but im afraid its a big issue for new players: you start to play, your are lucky enough to find a guild soon, and immediately you get targeted (and it doesnt matter if you dont lose gold and xp, having your log full of hits might be discouraging).
A guild with 4 level 25/30 players with a bit of knowledge of the game have too easy life farming RP.

Like, protect new players from the disheartening effects of being constantly pounded in GvG and PvP, while simultaneously making it harder to get profit out of multis? People seem to almost universally want those things, as far as I can tell.So its a rainy Saturday here in Europe. 965 players online= game is in big big problems. A plead to HCS: focus on important tings, don´t introduce new stuff, don´t experiment more with strange changes, listen to the experienced player base, do stuff that keeps new players playing and donating. Imho 965 players online is a emergency signal that something is not working. Very worried.
Thats the problem with Resetting the PvP ladder it forces PvP players to start new and hit those in range as every one has 1000 from other pvp players to levelers who value exp.

Just my opinion, but I don't think I would have stayed here a week if I couldn't PvP, nevermind a month or level 25.
I don't think as many players "hate" being attacked as people think. Even to someone who's not that interested in PvP...it provides some interest, some entertainment, an enemy to go after, another player to interact with, a reason to stick around.
I don't think i'm alone here when I say...monster bashing is really pretty boring. You want proof, just look at all the players who stay low level and PvP.
Here's how i'm looking at it. When you start playing you...don't know anyone, if you do get in a guild it's likely small and/or fairly inactive, and the game is quite large with a lot of different content, which i'd imagine makes it confusing or hard to grasp for more than a few, particularly those who aren't long-time or hardcore MMO gamers. I met most of my in-game friends through PvP, without that...I honestly don't think I would have kept playing.
If anything, I would say that PvP at low levels prompts more players to stick around, than it does provoke them to leave. When I first got that "You have been defeated by ..." log...my first thought was..."oh it's on now, git em!". I don't think i'm alone there. Conflict is the spice of life...there's a reason that saying has endured the centuries.

Yea.. I agree to a point.. but that's not the majority of players in this game in my experience.. just look at the threads in the forum lol... and tell me how many players have you attacked that have either come back and said man I dont PvP or say nothing but just bounty because they dont want to fight...
I bet if they put in a PvP toggle button to prevent incoming / outgoing attacks 60% maybe 75% of the players would sign-up.
And yes Conflict is the spice of life for some.. not all unfortunately lol

+1
why kill new blood, and this is happening more now with gvg and pvp farming (plus really where is the effort and challenge attacking that range ?) , i think lvl 1-25 should be training lvls, like a few have said before, step by step, showing how to attack a mob, how to equip them self's, how to drop things, how to do quests and how to get into a guild, at the end of the day i mean get them interested in the game without been hounded
