I haven't seen this topic yet, so I'll just continue with this.
I made a poll to see what you guys think. :?:

So, I was just thinking that we should be able to withdraw our bid in the auction house as you might accidentally bid more than you want or if you are outbid and you need the fsp or gold quick without having to wait 48 hours or more.

Or, another idea is just to be able to cancel your bid completely, but you are unable to bid on it again for xx amount of hours or just no wait at all.

I dislike it, because it will be a levellers paradise-someone bidding all their gold on an item, then withdraws his bid, banks some of the gold, and puts the rest back in the AH. Thus preventing getting attacked for gold.

isn't that a good thing  (from a levellers prospective) [/sarcasm]

Oh yea, I haven't thought of that, maybe you are only allowed to withdraw fsp bids?

Perhaps if it notifies the other bidders that the bid was retracted, if not then bidders will forget about it as they have been outbid, and won't know that they are leading again/can lead, and bid on other items. Thus, wasting their time and money.

Been suggested several times, and discounted, mostly because of the reasons already given above my reply ..

I say no... because those FSP have already influenced the price of the item you bid on, so you getting the back just means you can use the same FSP/gold to influence the price of other items.

The damage is done, and you can't take it back, is what I'm getting at. Just don't bid on the item in the first place, if you don't want to wait for the auction to clear.
