I should have observed it by my level already, but I didn't look at it
My question is: is the damage added by a critcal hit calculated after armor is subtracted?
To expect a maximum loss of 2 hps when a creature hits me would make a big difference in my hunting preparations ...
A question about critical hit

"Chance to do double damage with a successful hit" is what the description says.
Which means that Critical Hit doubles damage dealt. Say you get hit for 1, that just doubles to 2.

Today I tried it for the first time, fighting Mega Worms (Level 198) which have critical hit but no piercing strike. My armor was 1164, where I should have needed only 1070 when I trust wiki. So I was expecting a max damage of 2 hps in a critical hit, 1 hp as the min damage caused by a hit, doubled to 2 by a critical.
But it seems you are wrong, I encountered two critical hits - and both hit me with several hundred damage

Im afraid CH never worked like the description... it actually double your damage before armor check, not damage inflicted
