Yes, I also loved the irony of that: the item in that section that holds THE least interest for me - but the Cows ARE obsessed with this so-called PvP system...

So... a few hours into Monday, and still no fix? C'mon, it can't be such a difficult thing to fix - more likely no Cow has bothered to look at these forums yet!
Actually they have locked 2 threads :-) To be fair I don't know what it takes to fix something like that, I would venture a guess that you wouldn't either.
TBH there are many things I'd like to see fixed ahead of this.

And that is all it would be: a guess (and a presumptuous one, too.) I actually have a programming and highly technical (in IT) background, and I can tell you that whatever is causing this problem IS small (if you consider the malfunction, it looks to be a formatting one, most likely).
As for "other things to fix first" - the Top Rated lists are something that many people consult on an at-least daily basis, so if its wheels suddenly came off, they really should be put back on.
Also, there is a simple task management principle that the Cows seem completely unfamiliar with. Instead of tackling things in strict chronological order, or order of priority, it is usually best to FIRST sort according to task difficulty or resources required. This way, the easy-to-fix stuff gets handled first - the to-do list shrinks quickly and becomes easier to prioritise (also less demoralising for the people handling it), and (in a context such as this, where the issues affect other people) the most complainers are also appeased the fastest. Obviously, there is a line to be drawn - one can't simply keep shoving the big jobs to the bottom. But overall, first solve the most problems possible - after all, even the smaller problems ARE entire entities in their own right. This approach is one that applies both in programming (where a small problem may actually BE THE CAUSE of a larger one) AND in a general management sense.

You could be right. Honestly, I really think they should have at least one staff member playing it.
So, at last a news item acknowledging the problem - well, there's a start! And amazing how much extra patience it buys, too, being told it's being attended to...

Unfortunately, as usually happens, it went wrong on a weekend

As you say, if the staff actually took a little time to play the game there might be a lot fewer problems and those there were would get fixed a lot faster.
Not only a fewer problems,They would get a lot better ideas,Regarding the upgrade and Develpoment of the game,While interacting,Playing and understanding the things needed to improve. That way they can even find out the bugs/Difficulties what a normal player has in the game.
I really would like to see those admin accounts to be active, atleast one of them staying online for 3-4 hrs a day may be.
