What is to stop entire guilds to use one player for their gold bank? If opted out, they cannot be hit - hence ppl can hide their gold here, and just let the opted out player run around with billions without anyone being able to do anything about it (legitimate cheating).


Legitimate cheating? I think not. How is it cheating to protect what is yours? When I was low level I used to send my gold to a well protected high level guildy to prevent theft during hunts. This just gives players *another* method to protect their gold from those who would steal it. There is already a way to do this (convert to fsp as you make it) - if someone is too lazy to do that (as you are aware certain unscrupulous players already lighten other players pockets on a regular basis :P) you can be fairly sure that they will be too lazy to send their gold to a 'gold tank'. You may lose a few of your regular donators Kit, but I don't think your 'profits' will be dented too much :D - you are more likely to lose donators by levelling than through this update methinks.

IMHO the cows have done a pretty good job on this - they even reduced the effect of Gloat by 60%. They are never going to be able to please everyone but I think this is a pretty good shot at trying to sort out the joke that the PvP ladder had become.

Note to all those saying the opt out is only a good IF it is prohibitively expensive:

'Upgrades/Use Points' - Scroll to bottom of screen... costs are there surprisingly enough!

The ONLY thing I would tweak on this update is the forced exclusion from PvP - 2 weeks is NOT enough imho. I would prefer to see 6-12. That said, at least it IS an attempt to discourage use of multiple accounts to abuse the system and prevent legitimate players form profiting from their own efforts.

All in all a good job methinks. However, as always, time will tell. I hope it does work - the PvP system has been broken for too long.

More tokens into the game at a faster rate is good for PvP, The new PvPers wreaking havoc on the levelers will stop as the rewards wont have any value. No value=good for PvP, Heck I would like to see eac person in the top 50 receive tokes, or make them bound all together

hitting up is no problem, it is the ones who will be hitting down on players who do not have the capability of defending.


Remember you won't lose any xp unless they are within 10 of your Virtual Level.



OK, im better understanding the update now. I might suggest eliminating gold theft except within the +-10 so that it is truly JUST pvp outside that range.

if i wanted to level i would have, but i decided to gvg as i like the challenge of putting sets together to beat other players. i watched my boyfriend play for over a year and hunting does not thrill me. all he does is hit 1-8 on creatures he easily kills. where is the sport or fun in that? so with this update you are telling me that all i have spent to buy the best gear is useless and i need to level up so that i can have lop sided benefits, and beat up on smaller players?

Who will attack you if you don't have much rating??
If you decide to PvP-get PvP gear,,
Also crystalline is here to be destroyed..

the TOKENS came as a try to fix the farse that was the dominance medal.

Tokens then corrupted PVP in every aspect. Which is bad for real PVP-ers and for levelers alike.

LOts of fixes and bandaids have been applied just revealing new glitches, wound, scars and bugs . And also revealing serious lack of comprehension from game devs as to what drives diffrenet players in the game.

Now you created mayhem instead of promoting PVP.

Good things in the update:
the level cap and 2 week noob grace period : might get a little less multis winning tokens.
Nerfing gloat.

Bad things:
all the rest.

Without TOKENS that are connected to "rating": no pvp problems whatsoever in game.

Tokens can come from arena, temple, loyalty points, specials section, quests, chest or some new mechanism . But having them connected to PVP rating is never gonna work. Period. So UNCONNECT THEM. Period.


You are, in my opinion, completely spot-on. It DOES hurt both camps.

The problem for levellers is that PvPers can gain actual, measurable gains at the expense of players who are not in the running for those same gains (the tokens.) This is not unlike having a boxing match where the boxers can score points to determine the winner by beating up on audience members, without ever having to face EACH OTHER! How is that competitive? How is that actual PvP? It isn't - it's more like PvE, with non-PvPers playing the roles of the mobs...

And, of course, for the PvPers the token system also sucks because it simply corrupts the whole thing - the incentive is all wrong: while it should be about "glory", a sense of accomplishment, of challenges overcome and opponents outwitted, about bragging rights, instead it is about measurable profit.

Oh, and I think the whole point of the original suggestion to have "level bands" was misinterpreted and twisted - I don't think it was ever the suggestion that everyone within the level band should be able to reach everyone else. I think it was meant simply as a stratification of the overall results, while keeping the actual PvP mechanics as they were - so merely to identify the top players in the various level ranges...

How many lvl 25's do you pound on in GvG ?

I am a leveler and because of this hate pvp
Been hit three times in 20 minutes and now need to take off the epics i worked so hard to get and wear gear to keep from getting smacked.
There are people in this game that want nothing to do with pvp.
I can not afford to spend 200 fsp every 28 days to be able to enjoy this game again.
Seems that pvper complain the most so they get what they want in this game.

bounty is fine, but where is the competition? my crystal gear wont be repaired threw bounting the player either. i may not lose xp, but my crystal gear will be demolished by players i cant defend against.


On the other hand though, when you reach level 99, you will have the advantage no?


That's no answer. In fact, no it isn't - what it is, is an APPALLING one! There shouldn't be circumstantial "advantages" like this - the advantages should be hard-won by a player's own efforts (and no, I don't mean by levelling up to them!) and carved by their own ingenuity and resourcefulness. What you here, Mr Hoof, are insinuating is that it's a "swings and roundabouts" thing - that the game's balance is maintained not by actual balance, but by imbalances cancelling each other out. Well, there is a saying that contests that: "Two wrongs don't make a right"

NO RATING = your not a target. People look at the ladder for targets for big rating gains. If your on the ladder significantly your a pvper. At most you might be hit at a reset until your rating is worthless. The level bands are perfect. The problem was higher levels having less targets. Now they have more. And they have the actual challange of gaining rating from thier equals. NO EASY BUCKETS. Is some chump comes along that farmed lower non pvpers, they STILL have to deal with me when they are close to the top. Farmers might gain from some weak targets but they will lose from the real PVPERs in the end. In my humble opinion LOL

the brackets should have stayed the same up to a point where the gear has stats that are close. at the lower levels we cant defend

Drama queens are never satisfied. You wanted a change, you got a change, so why are you whining ?
If you dont like your position within your band, it's easy... lvlup! You got more potions too.. Place a bounty, hit back or buy yourself PvP protection for the rest of your life. If you cant compete in the ladder, dont pvp.


And, as is so often the case with the blinkered world-view of a PvP player, you cannot conceive of a view outside your own. Here's the thing: some of us would LOVE to "dont pvp"sic, but THE OPTION ISN'T THERE! We can still get hit by those who DO - now how is that equitable?? Oh, and as stated, don't even try to point at this so-called protection that has been introduced - it's way too expensive to be accessible to any but the very richest players - and even most of them would probably balk at just throwing away hundreds of purplies.

Easy answer to that - don't wear crystal as offline gear ..

So you rock the best gvg setup to dominate players 25 levels below you, but now your complaining that the same is going to happen to you in PVP? Seriously? And crystalline gets broken in gvg too...i saw no concern over that. You just mad that now you cant pick when to protect your gears. As im sure people you hit in gvg that werent online wearing crystalline would probably complain much as you are right now =P

Very well said. Basically, wouldn't you say that would actually be quite similar to the creature-hunting, which doesn't appeal to you? Smack the defenseless over and over...
