Drama queens are never satisfied. You wanted a change, you got a change, so why are you whining ?
If you dont like your position within your band, it's easy... lvlup! You got more potions too.. Place a bounty, hit back or buy yourself PvP protection for the rest of your life. If you cant compete in the ladder, dont pvp.
And, as is so often the case with the blinkered world-view of a PvP player, you cannot conceive of a view outside your own. Here's the thing: some of us would LOVE to "dont pvp"sic, but THE OPTION ISN'T THERE! We can still get hit by those who DO - now how is that equitable?? Oh, and as stated, don't even try to point at this so-called protection that has been introduced - it's way too expensive to be accessible to any but the very richest players - and even most of them would probably balk at just throwing away hundreds of purplies.
You get hit like once, maybe three times, and then your rating isnt good for anybody. Your no longer a target. Youve just "opted" out.
Unacceptable - that involuntary "opt-out" has, in the meantime, cost me close to half a level. Now, if I were carrying tons of gold, it would serve me right. But when I am carrying a few coppers, and some thug trying to win tokens 100-stams me for 5 rating points, the system is seriously f***ed. I'm not chasing after those tokens - hell, I'm not even in the audience of that particular boxing match! I'm merely crossing the road nearby on my way to my own affairs - so HTF is it that one of the "boxers" gets rewarded by coming outside and punching me in the face? In fact, how is it that the other one can come out and do exactly the same, and ALSO gain score? This system is complete bull. For PvP achievement to hold meaning, it should be strictly between willing participants. Do I challenge someone who doesn't play StarCraft to a game, then declare myself the winner when they decline? No - because that would be totally ludicrous. So is the FS "PvP" system, always has been...
(As an aside, here are
some of the games and sports I have played competitively, ranging from inter-school/university, through club level, and up to national level: chess, volleyball, table-tennis, Quake, StarCraft [both of them], Command&Conquer, Magic: The Gathering, Call of Duty, WarHammer 40K. You will notice both individual and team-based games there. FS's so-called "PvP" hold very, very little in the way of skill-based competition. In fact, it has very little in common with ANY test of skill between opponents, so referring to it as "PvP" is a complete farce.)
