Just earlier to today i seen tears in AH for 244. i think there was around 15 KKH in AH as well. nobody is buying the items anymore. the merchants and guilds are guild to be stuck with the items unless FS gets some new recipes that use those items.

It has been posted many times that the 1000+ players want some boots.
IF nobody is buying that means nobody is donating!

we all know that donating is what keeps this game alive. How many players in the forum have stated that they havent done the xmas offer this year?

I know HSC has been working on PVP, but how about working on getting the company paid, and give the players a reason to donate. even the TITAN GUILDS will have to agree. some things need changed up.

They could create some lvl 1k titan that will be in lower area(so that others can also hunt it)-and "drop" would be those shiny new lvl 1k boots

I'm all for new GvG items-but they should be guild focused and probably guild bound.,.

All for new stuffs if they made GvG more rewarding for who was best instead of who does the most soft targets.

Until then, thumbs down from me.

lol, If they have the right gear and coverage, thats not true. Such a sad misconception, far too common.

the point of this thread is that if no new recipes for the componets are made then allot of the gvging will stop, i dont gvg but many players make a living off of it. and if they dont get paid then they quit the game. if nobody is buying then nobody is donating. give players a reason to donate

Cool, and what Im saying is its a bad idea to reward a broken system so much further. Many very simple fixes have been proposed to this which would make those items retain value longer, and the cost of proper gear and coverage in gvg would also cause a further increased need for donations.

Your logic is not fitting, as my observations would say that the cows lost form having gvg so profitable judging by the increased frequency in donation drives since it has been profitable. More and more can play the game without donating, and the detonators get the shaft in the end. Fixing gvg before adding new things would lessen that.

Once again, just my opinion.

+1 to to everyone singing the 'nothing new and valuable for broken systems' tune.

Far, far too often we see things brought out as 'rewards' that merely encourage farming, skulduggery or outright cheating because they are added to game mechanics which were not designed for them.

Now, I agree with 2 points:

1) The GvG rewards need a revamp.
2) The GvG system does not reward quality - it rewards quantity.

I would be an advocate of a ladder based, resetting reward system for RP. Now - where could we take lessons from on what not to do? I know, PvP.

Let's get the PvP ladders sorted out so that the rewards are allocated as fairly as possible to the best in that range - and then transfer the lessons to the GvG arena.

I don't think we would need level brackets or anything that complicated - just a ladder system where the top ranked guilds on a weekly/fortnightly basis got some kind of payoff. I don't know how much that could be - but something along the lines of:

(GvG Rating at end of period - 1000) * Ranking Multiplier

could work. I'd envisage multipliers a bit like those for TKPs - x2 for 1st, x1.5 for 2nd etc.

In a similar way to TKPs a learning guild could win a few GvGs and earn a few RP that way - but the top guilds could be looking at 5-600 a week. Not being an experienced GvGer I don't know how that stacks up to current rates - but it would eliminate the farming and reward excellence if done right. Obviously the concrete numbers can be tweaked - I'm thinking on the fly here :)

Prices of Titan Epics are dropping too. I figure it is because there are fewer active players and less people donating, which means both that FSP are worth more and that demand for high-end items is down. And that means prices will drop.

Part of the problem with GvG is that it made it easy (too easy) for low-levels to get FSP without donating.
Now we see the market correcting for that. The only solution is to recruit and retain enthusiastic players who donate.

or a lot of non donators who do point rewards! lol....

the game just needs a population increase in general. :(

GvG is just flawed to begin with. If they are going to revamp the system there need to be a few things done.

1. Reset the GvG rating completely.

2. Ladder based in "seasons"
2a. Each season would reset the ladder but for bragging rights the results should always be kept in a updated "announcement" on the forum each time a ladder concludes.
2b. Medals are introduced for guilds. For now, getting a Bronze/Silver/Gold/Crystal GvG Dominance medal would upgrade max player slot by 1 per tier or something simple to start.
2c. Medals would include Dominance(1st place) and one for 2-10th place. The 2-10th place medals could add a structure per medal tier.

3. Ladder placement is based on
3a. GvG Rating
- Rating to be explained further on
3b. GvG win %
- Pretty self explanatory

4. GvG Rating - see Gravelys idea for a good rating solution. However modified so that lower rated guilds can damage higher rated guilds more since it is more feasible to actually win a GvG with a strategy rather than the coin flip that is solo PvP.

Here is my view.

If you EVER have anything go into the economy without a way of leaving pretty soon you will be over flooded with them. END RIGHT THERE. But I will explain it for you incase you are too stupid to figure it out.

KKH's come in at lets say 1k orbs.

There is then more KKH's any people want to sell them, so the put their offer lower.

Everyone is then putting their offer lower lowering the value of them.

Lower value means either people folding and not making/selling them.

or people sell for lower until people stop selling them.

Once people stop selling them the value will go up, then down again as there will be 15 KKHs in the AH.

and it will keep going.

HCS knew this would happen when they put these out or they would make 'em breakable.

Sure...bring in another Epic or more stuff to spend RP on. Creating a new item that MAY destroy a valuable set in its process.
Just like when I made a large donation to buy the Ormarr's set for leveling when it came out. Then POOF! Fire Sword.

I just refuse to donate all that much anymore. There's been WAY too much of that this past year.

farming rp in gvg was never beneficial ... just high levels taking advantage of low levels that dont realize how easy it is to make fsp once they level ....

my 2 cents

lol.... guess you were living under a rock when it use to be as beneficial as titan hunting at first.

and even after that, it was more beneficial than titan or SE hunting for, most people, at higher levels. ;)

dropped off a lot now, but meh, hopefully farming will die down.
