Please create a way to allow those who wish to use the old version of pm to be able to do so.
There is, you just dont use the message system from the bio. You either reply to a message via your log, or type in the name manually via the send message screen.
But one of the methods you suggest means that the player you wish to message would have had to message you recently ( to make it convenient) and the other means you need to remember correct spelling ...lol... and BOTH are slower ways to get the job done ...to me these options, while they both work are LESS convenient then the old method...seem odd to me to create an " upgrade " that actually reduces functionality
Slower only if you refuse to use the new messaging system. Spelling shouldnt be hard, considering if you were going to message them via their profile, you can copy right from there anyways. . . . .
My point remains that the old way is still there should you insist on using it.
after several days of evaluation and use...I have determined ( for me at least) that this new messaging system is no faster sending messages in any way I can measure...in addition it has the disadvantage of negating any of the hover over functions ( on the side bar )that were previously available to me with the older messaging system...for instance...when using this new method, I can no longer refer back to an online guild members lvl or active buffs when typing a message...so for me this new method represents a loss of functionality...and thus is a step backwards in my opinion
Saving the page load for the send message screen (twice if you count sending the message) is an improvement in speed. Its much more noticeable for those with slower computers and slower connections.
This seems to me of a case of getting used to it. Simply thinking ahead would prevent all of that. You can get around not being able to view the mouse overs by the simple use of another tab. The "loss of functionality" seems to be on your end, because this messaging system is faster hands down, even having to use other tabs for the forgetful minds.
I dont understand why such trivial things would warrant the coders time and effort because it is hard to get used to different system for some :?
