just have all components spawning with a heavier weight for those that burn up while inventing.

Components are already significantly higher in weight than recipes and crystallines. Like, five or six times heavier.

nice work so far BG.

However maybe you misunderstood here.

Arena sets = sets where you first win /buy recipe then win/buy components to invent an item.

last batch of sets a novelty was introduced with average chance to invent ( all previous where high or around there).

Success ratio in inventing chumanas etcetera is around 50% I guess. That means that every 2 or even 2 out of 3 components blow up while people fail to invent. Roughly it would be 80-90% success rate for the older arena sets.

So logic says that for every "high chance to invent" component there should come 2 or 3 "oops it blew up again" component.

Daynas, Eadgyths, Clotildes, Chumanas, Machtelds >> items that blow up while inventing. So those components should have higher weight than other components, also regarding the time factor ( they are freshes)

I dont get why no Acheron recipes yet in arena!

Easy to reactivate them.

They are reactivated but at the same low spawn weight as other recipes.

Also wondering when we gonna get decay system on non moves tourneys?

After the Map system is completed. As I said earlier, that effects everyone in the game in a seriously huge way and is thus taking Coder priority until completed and implemented.

Is there ANY need for more crystal ? - if used correctly, given the UB190 and Distil, it will never break anyways ....

Certain Crystalline sets are going for reasonable FSP and in very few auctions, leading me to believe there may be a market for it.

So logic says that for every "high chance to invent" component there should come 2 or 3 "oops it blew up again" component.

Ah, I see what you mean. Yeah, I can tweak the weighs according to invent chance.

Forgot to check these.

Arena Only SE/Steamwork Parts.

Dwarf Skin Fire Flail = 25 FSP average.

Dwarven War Gauntlets = 25 FSP average.

Xind Heart = 24 FSP average.

They are still going pretty strong. No tweaks needed here, right?

steamwork parts are steaming into game just fine imho. no tweak needed.

Add a small trickle of the lacking recipes, up the hard-to-invent components and then you can leave office early for the pub ( dont tell Hoof), since you done more work for arena in this week than been done in months.

well done BG

great job Big Grim for all the updates..finally someone paying attention to arena and listening to the arena voices....now if we can only get more and more players to want to get involved in arena....the combat moves are moving very slowly due to not enough newer players...best update so far- the 8 man tourneys...this helps more than anything..speeds up arena and more wins for players = more happy and staying arena players..thanks

Add a small trickle of the lacking recipes.

Which ones are those? The ones with a high (ish) cost or the ones that do not seem to appear in the AH?

Probably the ones not in AH.

From memory I have not seen Colvis/ acherons/ Svanhildas in long time. But there are more recipes that have gone extinct.

( put them in a store for 200-500K gold and problem solved)

not a bad idea. Maybe add to the coloseum of gurgriss, just add ALL the arena recipes in there and call it a day?

Nah. Seeing as that everyone could get these, the prices could be low and still cause as much of a gold sink as the current arena causes. I think that prices should be something like this:

1-250: 50k
251 - 500: 100k
501 - 750: 150k
751 - 1000/EOC: 200k

Remember, everyone could access these, so there would be more gold being sunk overall .. :D

its really only the FIRST few recipes of a new set that is won in arena that can be a real good price since you get
a) vital info on unknown parts and can empty AH for them
B) first man/woman / fracker (:P) to get the whole set gets the picture of how valuable the set really is since set bonuses have been very OP lately....

So after having 1 week of the recipes imho it just clogs arena for no good purpose. Those spots should be taken by potions/components/gold tourneys instead.

Just out of curiosity....is there a special reason why the L.931-947 range got a higher weight for spawning than the other levels :? ? A lot of Arenas seem to be spawning in there.

arena is as boring as ever doesnt matter what u do its okay for a few days then a waste of time we cant sell anything so its a waste of time.

maybe u could try introduce a new set every 2-3 weeks grim if it isnt a lot of hassle tho to keep things fresh as new sets all keep players intrested and always keeps arena set-ups changing.

BigGrim, I'm bumping this post up and putting this in here so that you'll see it in the morning. There's a serious discrepancy in arena components needed for the 2nd wave of inventable sets. Battle Scrolls, which are needed for Machteld sets, outnumber Honored Artifacts, the other item needed for Machteld sets, by more than 7 to 1 in the Auction House right now. Consequently, you have the scrolls going for 3 or 4 fsp while the Honored Artifacts are listed at 100. Now, it could be that Inventor 2 is just saving more of the scrolls than the artifacts, but a review of the Ultimate FSG shows 26 Artifacts in BP's vs. 69 Scrolls. My conclusion is that the honored artifacts are not streaming into the arena with equal frequency to the battle scrolls. This is simply an observation and you can use it for whatever you feel is necessary. Thank you.

so close and yet so far... Saddening when you are talking to players and very close to finishing up to a point where things will be working OK. Then when the last touches are to be done you disappear.

Still messed up with a) which crysts spawn B) which recipes spawn c) components balance.

obviously with the spine event arena was affected too and here was golden chance to revive it....
