So, I know I have been absent for a while. And it is mainly because I do not feel enjoyment from making graphics lately. I just don't know what I want to do anymore. I can't seem to find a style I enjoy, or that looks good for the most part, and I get discouraged. I really don't know if graphics is my scene. If you wish to say otherwise, just post here.

It's just, I find myself not even opening up photoshop to try anymore. It's kind of depressing.

You know how many times I feel like that every day? I open up Gimp, start to work on something, then I'm like "meh, I have no ideas, maybe tomorrow"

That cycle can go on for a while lol.

It does break eventually, but it takes time for me.

(sorry josh this is why your order is taking so long XD)

I'm tired. So, if anyone reads this post, then can you post the one piece on the forums that you find most inspirational. And hopefully that will help. :) Thanks.

And @ LawDog,
I haven't seen that commercial.

And @ Cass,
Yeah, I know. It's sucks. But it feels like it will never break.

I go through this all the time. And then I do something totally random, just to see what the result is, where 'playing' rather than 'working' takes me.

So what if you don't settle into a particular style - enjoy the variety that leaves you able to play with. For me, developing a 'style' ends up feeling like I'm stuck in a rut. Which frustrates me, personally.

So, one thing before bed. I thought I would make a piece real quick. Just some brushing and smudging. Something I really like in Photoshop. Hope you guys like it. :)

Its a bit hard to appreciate it with the watermark, kind of all I can look at lol. I think this would look best without any text, just a nice abstract piece. I really like it.

Yup, definitely better without the text. Try emphasizing the depth a bit more and maybe a bit wider range of blues possibly?

You'll laugh. Maybe come up with an avatar or sig based on it. :)

Laugh!? I'm freakin' crying over here!!! That is hilarious!!! I don't watch much TV (too busy playing FS, hehe).

Don't worry about it, you've taken a break and you'll find that it becomes enjoyable once again. I've personally felt like this many times over the years and taken my fair share of breaks. I was beginning to love your style, but if you weren't just keep trying I've changed style countless times.

I find i go through phases with photoshop, i do a few pieces then i take some time out, comeback and do more pieces.

It works better for me like that i think. If i just keep working i start to burn out and get uninspired.

1lasthope (infamous tagger) did a feature about 'gfx mojo', worth a read:-

If i'm not feeling inspired i just don't even bother, i prefer to wait till the 'mojo' kicks in.
