Timing and luck are key too, ie when to start climbing the ladder have good luck with buffs attacking and defending, deflect is a pain in the a$$

Learn have fun and enjoy!

exactly some of the people at the top of the ladder can get annoying and bounty you so that its harder for you to catch them but its all part of the fun, the max rating you can get from one hit is 50 and u have a better chance of getting that when their ratings is higher then yours

or just 100 stam

i will, that is the main reason because im bored with leveling... tried titan hunting and failed

the other reason is to make some FSP :)

If you want to learn new stuff, play with risk, meet lots of interesting players, and occassionally be called lots of "nice" names after hitting certain players(sarcasm), then sure.. try pvping a bit.

PvPing isn't like titan hunting, there's risk, and if you're good ( or as scoops said really really careful LOL) you can earn a token or two. Thing is,to get on the ladder you hit people... hitting players often results in any kind of response, 1: nothing, 2: being hit back, 3: a bounty, 4:a delevel party.

With PvP you don't know how some players might react, and when you're on the BB you CAN lose levels. My point is, if you want FUN and some tokens? Be prepared to risk levels from bounties, hourly hits etc. It's not all sunshine and daisey's 8) but some find it fun ;) I know i do.

A good way to learn about buffs, gear etc and so on,is to try clearing some bounties.( knowing if bounty is "taken "or not started yet. Hitting every 2 minutes, watching the bounty for any buff or gear changes, having a "safe" setup so you wont lose, etc. Then you start taking multiple bounties, and so on. Learn from mistakes, ask questions, and adapt.

Hopefully you find it interesting and a bit of fun :)

Great that you want to try a different aspect of the game rather than just whining about it like some do.

You got that right.

I may look to do a bit of PvP but first i want to know all about it

so i want some advice on how to get started and what i need to concider or look into

any advice is appreciated :)

The best advice is the same advice I would give you if you want to learn to ride a bike. Get your ass on the seat and pedal. You will crash and get a skinned knee and later in your FS life you can point to the scar and say, "Yep I lost 25 levels one time". If you don't understand why something happens to you, ask... You will find that pvpers are a social group and most of us know each other quite well and for the most part are willing to explain and guide you through things. The point is though. You can't ask to find out everything there is to find out about PvPing on the forum, because part of pvping is learning through loss. Accepting that you will lose levels and becoming a friend with that fact. Excepting that people will ridicule you, call you names, cast your morals in doubt, all for playing a game. LOL When you can lose with out caring, and laugh about being called the most horrendous names, when you understand that FS is a game that people play like their lives depend on it and you play like your fun depends on it then you will have entered the realm of PvPer. Welcome to the dark side my friend, it's more fun then you can possibly imagine, because no creature will ever send you PM's because you killed it and took it's gold but levelers will squeal like stuck pigs.

oh, one more thing...

NEVER pass up the opportunity to 100 stam someone, you will only regret it later.

You'll understand this more clearly later, trust me.

If your trying to learn sets and have no idea where to start look at the top of you pvp ladder, the guys on it dont wear those sets for no reason. And about who to hit and when, start at the bottom of your ladder and work your way up, once you have over 1200 pvp rating you wont be getting much from people with 1000 rating or less so you have to start hitting your competition. Always use deflect and cloak, chances are no one has a "super set" so they will have to guess if you are in armor or defense, and dont try to win the ladder in a suicide set, ive seen people do it and its completely based on luck. Try to figure out counter sets...like if a guy is in defense and attack with less damage and armor hit him in a set with Armor and Attack...also when hitting people in a defense set the DC 225 pot will be your best friend and when the race is getting close look for those EW 1000 pots in the potions bazaar they can do wonders to your stats.

It really comes down to trial and error until you find what works best and what buffs... there are a few other little tips and secrets i have but dont feel like typing them all here, PM me in game if you want any.

PS: i ALWAYS use 100 stams =]
