Scavenging Drop Rate Increase and Find Item

If you are, just wait until doubler runs out and then do 100 or so hits at the end of your hunt. Seriously, common drops are not really the big problem here.

I hunted today with no Find Item at all and got 9 drops in 9000 stamina (using Doubler 750)
I hunted last night with about 8k stamina db 1200, I got about 15 drops with no FI on.
these both seem pretty reasonable
Now we need to have a few players do some Elite hunting with FI1000 on and see how the 'fix' has effected Elite hunting... also champion sets too...
Once new content is released I'll give it a shot, but not beforehand.. will keep a record of kills to drop ratio.

The drop rate for creatures around my level (early 800s) seems to be ok to me. I hunted today with no Find Item at all and got 9 drops in 9000 stamina (using Doubler 750) - so 9 in 500 or so kills. that's right around where it should be and to be honest I wouldn't want to be getting any more if I wasn't specifically looking for an item.

And yet doing level 876 and not getting a common rune says maybe there is a problem

You're hunting with doubler on though! You can't expect all common items to drop if you race though a level in under 100 combats. Those drop rates are fine if you spent a couple of hundred stamina looking for the item you wanted post serious hunting.

sorry but are Common items, im not talking about a Legendary drop, it would be fine, i suppose hunting with a level 1050 FI should be more than enough to get them (maybe not all of them), i wouldnt mind if i miss one or two items, but 10 out 22 its really too much. Are Common items after all

Right, and if you hunted with a lower level of doubler you would be overflowing with drops. I'm going to guess you used 1200, or 1260 since you had distil active. That means you are killing 26 times fewer creatures than the drop rate is designed for. You're even killing 1.6 times fewer than you would using Greater Doubler - which would suggest that instead of 10/22 missing you would have had 2/22 missing just by switching your doubler to a slightly lower value.
You have to trade off between drops and levelling speed - and somewhere in the middle (Doubler 500-750) there will be a point where you level quite fast AND get the majority (if not all) of the drops! The game shouldn't cater for everyone using the best of the best all the time.

I know that i could even deactivate doubler after every level to get drops (im not going to do it), thats not the point.
I just think that using a SO high level potion should give you a better chance to get items.
It doesnt hurt the game since common items are rarely used, honestly i have (at least i had) fun in collecting all the items, making them so rare its something i cant see how will make the game better.

"leveling speed" is an unknown concept in Karthak area

I know my preferred solution to all of this was the tiered Drop Rate I've brought up several times - which would make common drops available as often as you are asking for. The main reaosn for it was to fix the Super Elite and Elite drop rates though - common items were a side effect.
Honestly, I'm not fussed either way with common drops. I am annoyed that there hasn't been an HCS comment in the thread for several pages now
I see your point, and although I don't think it's major for the game it would be addressed with my ideal solution

I know for sure, ill stop farming Champions (that i did mainly for the same reason, i.e. collecting drops), cause it becomes too expensive stamina wise (and items looted are not useful), and for sure i wont even consider Elite farming (that i did rarely, and i havent use Elite sets sice Adventurer, for a few level - 350 levels ago). Killing 5/10 elites might be fun, having to kill them 30 times, its just a waste.

i read your idea, and i think it could work, i still think that reverting the FI fix and decrease SE and Scavenging drops would be better and much easier.

Again, though - should you *really* be able to get a full set in 10 kills? Where does the 'it's no fun any more' argument stop?
Champions are a good example - most of them have multiple drops, at 4% under my tiered system, so you're really looking at a 25-30% drop rate with different FI combinations. How is that 'too much stamina'? 4 kills per drop - that's an absolute gift from an instant respawn creature.
Elites, well, the sets aren't up to much, but some of the items can be useful. I think having to kill them a few times to get the useful item is a good thing - and might even encourage people to farm them to supply the players who are in too much of a rush.
This thread really isn't going anywhere without some HCS attention though, so I might just sit it out for now and see what happens.

they need instant respawn in these elites IMHO . and of course, I am worried about some of the quests.

RJEM im not going to argue, and its not my attitude to complaina nd im not going to, its a game and im just saying what would give me more fun (being a game is the only thing i care).
Even 10 Elite kills, for a set that has almost no use, its 100/150 minutes of searching, sweeping a 200/300 square map, buffs, potions, groups or imps. Its still a good effort for a minimum reward (think about the reward of spending those 100/150 minutes hunting Titans). 30/40 kills for that seems too much.
Same goes for Champions, drops are rarely worth (often are just Common items), and you meet them in the map you are hunting in. I use Combat sets to kill them, the first 10 kills are fine, after that having to change set up every 20 square gets annoying.
But i agree that this thread is going nowhere, so ill stop now

I loved farming elite and champion sets, problem is with the inflation in legendary sets there a fewer and fewer that are useful , both in terms of hunting and for other purposes.
SE drop rate is a joke now though.

Funnily enough, the L876 rune was the ONLY item i just got two drops of on my 7 level hunt WITH FI800 and Lesser Distil. I got a grand total of 12 drops in my 17K+ stamina hunt and that, to me, is a bit low IMO. The SE kill page is looking the most barren I think I've EVER seen it ...

Umm, they CAN be - esp. if the item you want is on the first or second level of your hunt
Yes, it should have been this way all along, but surely, given that this is a 4 yr old fubar, wouldn't it have been better to have just changed the description and not the actual buff (and avoided all this contentious debating..)

Different drops: 22
Items Looted: 12
Items not looted: 10 (all common and rare)
I dont think drop rate is fine
I actually think this is quite good, considering that your only effort to get those items was the FI pot. I mean, what is the cost to get those items? between 1/12 and 1/22 of a FI pot cost, that's peanuts. Even in a normal, high-doubler hunt, you managed to produce 10 extra items to sell - a coincidence that you failed to loot 10 other items. Odds are that somebody else dropped 22 instances of 12 items and is missing the 10 you have to spare.
I mean, even without any big effort, your numbers show that on average, you will get just enough common items - that looks very well balanced.
And if you really need a particular item, there's the last few hundred kills when you've switched off your doubler - if nobody is selling a spare.
I would be much more concerned about drop rates of some non-quest and non-resource items that are needed in multiple instances for quests.
And when it comes to elite sets, I proposed instant respawn - that should just about restore the effective per/hour droprate to pre-fix values. But it really boils down to "how much effort should obtaining a 3piece set be?" And what will the market value of such items be, if there's some effort behind them? Finally elite gear could start selling for elite prices...
