hello, somebody that can help..i have finally made it to lvl 200 to do the fushi quest- the Frozen Halls..it may not be possilbe to do...the new drop rate is making even the easier parts of the quest almost impossible..just trying to get a recipe drop so i can continue..a few hundreds kills later..no recipe..fi 1000 or 800 are now useless to help these quests..not even the regular drops from regular creatures ..i hate to ask how impossilbe it will be to do the other harder parts of this quest...many many drops from elites are going to be needed to finish....drops that wont come with the current drop rates....this quest may be impossilbe to do now ??..was this quest meant to take a week or more to do ?? i dont think so...somebody at hcs plllllleeease fix the drop rates of creatures., since you fixed find item...pronto..please dont wait for this..you have made the quests in the game impossilbe and very much no fun to do...pleease fix drop rate

then read what you say to look at...the flaming ice rune recipe is not given to you..you have to get it as a drop from a screaming skull..and the loom of time recipe comes only as a drop from a frozen ancestor.....no other way to get those recipes....some recipes are given..others you have to get from drops from a creature...i have now kills hundreds of those screaming skulls..no recipe...it should not be that hard to get a recipe..

Wow, that sucks. And the recipe is not listed int he FSG so you have no idea of how often it is supposed to drop

the other items dropped by the same creature that drops the recepies have a drop rate of 0.3%, and i don't think i have ever seen a creature that have different drop rates for different items... so i think 0.3% would be a good guess

and the "bad news" doesn't stop there.... to invent the Longsword of Fate you need one drop from a normal creature (drop rate 0.3%) and 6 drops from Elites (each with the "high" drop rate of 2.67%)

if i remember correctly i had to kill quite alot of elites when i did the quest, and that was some time ago when FI didn't work as intended.... so good luck to the people doing that quest now...

lol with the current FI, that quest sounds about as fun as root canal treatment. especially the part of tracking down a million elites.
oh well, i guess at least the awesome quest reward makes it worth it.

...oh wait.

thanks everyone for now realizing what has happened to the fushi quest....so where is bg, hoof or forn on this..why is nobody doing anything about the drop rates of creatures that have now made most good quests in the game nearly impossible to do..in other threads there has been many complaints about what has happened to drop rates for doing quests..yet 1 month now ..nothing has been done...someone from hcs..pleease fix the drop rates..TODAY..not tomorrow or next week or next month...today....is it possible to ever get a reply from an hcs person on this probelm ????..have not seen one in any post regarding drop rates.. - the only replies i have seen are to say that find item is working properly...(that is fine..but the drop rates are not working properly.)

Yes, and as I said, I have spoken to the Coders to do a change to drop rates according to creature type. Hopefully we'll get something done soon. It has to be through Coders as frankly, Sword is far too big to attempt to do it manually.

i am amazed at how many people reply without reading or checking the facts...those recipes are not quest items...they are not resources..so neither of those buffs are any help to get the recipe drop....the recipes are regular drops from creatures that have many drops..almost impossilbe to get anything to drop..and then you have to get the right one...i finally got the first recipe..took over 700 kills to get 1 simple common drop....now i have to do it again for loom of time recipe..it is also not a quest item or resource..so neither of those buffs help....fi800 or fi1000 are close to useless now with drop rates so low.. .3% chance of drop goes to .6% chance of drop with fi1000..whoooopeee...that is about useless....i saw where they say they are going to do something about drop rates...but when ??? it has been over 1 month now..and nothing has been done. from what i see..all creatures not in the caves..need to have the drop rates fixed..especiallly elites...i will probably have to buy all 7 swords needed to finish this quest...it would probably take a week or 2 to get those in a drop from elites...i dont think that was how the quest was intended to be done..

I'm totally in agreement here - Quest Drops were a huge concern of mine immediately after the change and I'm stunned to see that nothing has been done in this area since the cave rates were adjusted upwards - especially since many, many players have made this point.

I've submitted a support ticket asking HCS once again to look specifically at drop rates for quest items (linking to this thread), so if you know any other quests which require non-resource/quest finder affected items then please list them here.

I know most of Karthak is along those lines, so there might be a good place to begin!

oh wow, boy am i glad i did this quest when it first came out :o the same can be said of one of the Karthak quests where you are required to acquire a recipe from a critter to progress although at least that quest has an awesome XP reward. I feel your pain original poster :(

They should've made FI half as effective or a little less and just changed the skill description instead of nerfing FI to the point where it's a joke. There's no point in just changing scavenging drop rates when all aspects of the game are affected, not just scavenging. Just fix FI and be done with it.

People spend all that time and effort on killing elites, SEs and others, only to be rewarded with.. NOTHING (except the satisfaction of killing it and the occasional drop if they're lucky)

There are some normal drops in the long 940-1000 Karthak Quests, at least one recipe is dropped in Karthak as a normal item, if i remember rightly, somewhere in the 960's.

another 350 kills on frozen ancestor...only 2 drops that were not quest or resources items...that is insane ridiculous...2 out of over 350 kills..??? how can anyone allow this to continue ? ..not to mention 52 balls of fate..and all of them extracted- no fails..but only 1 mind cord...that has to be nearly impossible...only 3 choices to get - body, mind, or spirit cord...someone may need to look at that also..52 balls/1 mind cord. ..something is wrong..really trying to make this quest not possibly impossible- but fully impossible...and to think i still have to get 7 swords from elites that have 3 drops each ???? yiiiiiiiikes ...p.s someone please premenatly ban that multi thieving lvl 1 punk that graffetti'ed this thread..

The simplest solution IMHO would be to extend Quest Finder so that it affects Recipes, too.

We had a couple of people all hitting Fushi and eventually got the pieces for a guildie. Might take some teamwork and lots of patience, but it's not impossible.

no, with fi1k it will [according to the math] take 500 kills to get the recepies and one of the swords, and around 110 elites to get the other 6 swords... (but then again random can give you alot more or less if it's in that mood :))

it still feels like just a little to much for a quest that doesn't have the (EP) in it's name...

So the droprate "issue" that affects a handful of quests needs to be worked on before the new map system (which they are working on), new skills and other improvements? Ehrm, no, not at all actually.

I'm pretty sure it took about 100 kills.

Don't know for sure as I wasn't part of it.

Still... it's a QUEST. That's all. Pass it up, then. FI is finally working the way it was supposed to.
