There is a major problem with this update. It also effects xp loss on the bounty board. As a result, people will now lose virtually no xp when cleared by someone much higher than them. And it renders 100 stams on the bounty board useless. As a result, while the update improves non bounty board pvp, it kills pvp on the bounty board.
its probably just a bug
i hope they squash this one quick. that is a bad bug to have in the system. =/

Want to improve arena? Take out the 10%+ lucky shot ratio and instead reduce each players armor and defense by 5% after every 10 rounds of combat until someone wins. No lucky shots and no judges except in mutual kills. Adding double elimination tourneys would certainly be interesting. Also can you explain why arena prizes are rotated instead of all prizes available at all times? Seems to me the markets would even out instead of flooding with a few select items then cutting them off only to flood the market with a different few select items.

wait till you start getting hit more and more because there's no 'punishment' out there now. sadly you aren't in my range

Great point Bry -- as of now -- there is no disincentive for me to hit my entire pvp range for gold. And people are now defenseless because it will require 40 players to take five from me now.

Thanks Shads for the compliment. The sad thing is I wasn't exagerrating. Literally, if none of the hitters are within ten levels of me, it will require 40 hitters to take five levels with all 100 stam hits unless this is corrected.
Oh i trust your math on that completely.. the XP loss is staggeringly low .. rather unreal really. they do need to fix this ASAP. tho i think all of HCS has headed off to bed o.0

Now you have totally eliminated PVP for the under level 25 players.
I guess there were too many whiners when they lost gold.
Poor unappreciated little new players.
Now they will get their first PVP exposure when they hit level 25.
Then we can tell them "Welcome to the real world, kiddies!"
Another game aspect has been lost.
Along with under Guild Level 100 GVG.
I wonder what fun game aspects we lose next.

There should be NO negative modifier in PvP +/- 10 levels (I might also add that if you're at the bottom or top of the PvP bracket, you lack the -10 level target or +10 target)...There should then be a negative (-1% )modifier for every 10 levels above your VL and a -2% for every 10 levels below your modifier that in Gold, XP and Rating modifiers. You SHOULD have a stiffer negative modifier for smacking someone lower level than you ("picking" on the weaker)
Back to my hits...in both of those, the setup I had on had 100% Master Thief...one had 25% protect gold, the other 35%. This set should have taken more. I won't even get in that MT has NEVER kicked in using this set which maxes it out that enhancement while attacking players my own level. If I'm on a low level bounty, even if they have protect gold at 100%, it kicks in frequently.
QUIT nerfing PVP based on what a couple people suggest. Actually take the time and talk to everyone. It's really not that hard.

The xp/gold loss for whole bracket is really good. I like the increase loss for wider level range applied to gold/xp BUT I think the smallest increase in loss should be for gold (it should be barely noticeable), and the biggest loss should be for xp. This ties into the rating transfers. I like the idea of reduction to rating tranfers, but I think reducing based on where you are in the band is slightly unfair.
For the reduction to rating transfers-- for higher levels it should be tied to the the difference between your VL and actual level... starting at 2 or 3 levels under your VL. This would allow the top of the band to still compete on reasonable footing.. and not just get mugged to hell by the bottom (for gold, xp, AND rating) and have no (or reduced) chances in the ladder... this would cause disadvantage to any level in any band. it would also help the non-pvpers get some breathing room--the 10 stam clears on the BB would add up eventually to a reduction in ladder points received, making it not worth a ladder participation everyone in a while until releveling. This could be as a ratio or a fixed % or as a flat point reduction. The minimum levels under would be enough barrier to stop manitpulation via 1-man delevel to knock someone out of the 2 day ladder.
In my band, generally speaking, people are using the same gear--the only major advantage being at 710 if you wanna drop some FSP, so the advantage between a 749 and a 710 is minimal... 78 level up points are peanuts... so i dont think you can handicap the higher levels on the ladder based on the fact that they have a stat advantage.... at least after a certain point. For lower bands, I can see having a rating transfer decrease, but at higher levels it doesnt make sense. In some regards it is similar to the BB--5 levels for a level 50 is just a few days stamina.... 5 levels in my band is a week to a week and a half. The VL/AL ratio could be a way to steady the ship for the ladder bands above 500 or 600.....
I haven't been successful on the ladder, I just think this may be a bit more fair.

PvP Ladder Fixes
XP loss and gold theft is now applied anywhere within a PvP Band. Gold stolen, xp loss and PvP Rating transfers will be reduced based on the level difference (whether higher or lower).
I simply cannot understand this drive to inflict experience loss on everyone. I chat to a huge number of people who are simply depressed by PVP hits and are rapidly losing their interest in this game. Most of them do not inhabit the forum and so have not fed their views into these discussions. Those that do (like me) have learnt that anti-PVP views are too easily overlooked. I got extremely close to leaving this game under the last PVP system - and only stayed because the small number of people within the narrow band for experience loss actually stopped when I asked them nicely. With these wider bands I think it very unlikely that personal requests will work well enough to keep my playing FS.
Please: lose the experience loss from PVP or provide a realistic and sustainable opt out
