Okay I only got to page 7 of this thread but I've read enough. I voted "yes" on the opt in to the PVP LADDER. This is not opting into or opting out of PvP itself, folks. It is only opting into a competition for rewards, that is it. Anyone who loves to PvP and steal gold and take xp can still do it without any problem whatsoever. They can still bounty, still help friends with delevels, and all of that. All an opt in to the PvP ladder will do is help out the levelers who get hit for easy pvp rating or if they have a lot of gold on them, to avoid being placed on the ladder and appearing as a subsequent target for others on the ladder. Providing an opt-in for THE LADDER will not destroy PvP. It will only eliminate the hitting of easy targets for the greedy players who only want to PvP to get those token rewards, not for the "true PvP'ers", as they call themselves, who do it for the love of PvP. That's how I see it.

Hoof, just get rid of the pvp rewards already, you have to see by now they're causing nothing but trouble. And will continue too. (put em in the caves or something)

Plenty of people being saying that pretty much ever since the rewards were introduced Bletch - but all such appeals seem to fall on stony ground and get ignored.

[22] ok
[22] so total summary of what we have discussed...
[22] 1) We're going to add an opt-in for the PvP Ladder which will take effect from the next PvP Ladder reset.
[22] 2) After level 600, the bands for the PvP Ladder will be 100 levels instead of 50.
[22] 3) XP Lock will be disabled for PvP attacks if you opt-in to the PvP Ladder
[22] 4) PvP Protection will be changed to it will only protect 10k gold per level.
[22] That is all :)

[22] PvP Protection also protects all your xp

1) How will opting in take affect? Will you still gain PvP rating from doing PvP, or are you making the ladder a joke? (for what is the point of rating PvP if you dont gain rating doing it? You'd have to call it something else..)
2) Sounds good, shouldve been done ages ago.
3) So, we can still PvP with XP lock? The way I read this it sounds like if someone hits me for gold/XP, has XP locked and not "opted in" on the ladder, I wont be able to hit back and take XP.
4) Better than nothing I guess.
