do you need to opt in before the reset to be counted in the next one or can you opt in while its running?

If you tick opt-in, you are included in the next reset, not in the current one.

I'm not sure if anyone has suggested this or if it was discussed during the chat, but to make it more fair for everyone, how about if the opt-in box is checked, all players lose ALL relic bonuses while they are "opted-in". It would level the playing field a bit more between larger/smaller guilds and also allow for the lower players in the bands without bonuses to compete with the higher ups in the bands with relic bonuses.

If the box is checked to be "opted-in" for the PVP ladder, then players will forfeit their relic bonuses (no matter what the bonus is and no matter what they are doing). If the box is unchecked then the player receives the relic bonuses once again whenever the ladder resets next.

I don't see it being much of an issue if the idea behind the ladder is Player Vs. Player. Sure those players who seriously play the ladder and keep themselves buffed 24/7 will still be a harder target for players, but I think it would even the playing field a bit and bring in more interest into the PVP ladder.

The ultimate extension of "make it fair" would be to require everyone to run without gear and cap their buffs at the levels they could cast themselves. People work to gain gear, buff, and relic advantages. No reason they should not reap the reward for doing so.

That said, the relic system (among other factors) is driving this game towards fewer and larger guilds.
I don't say that's good or bad, just that it is.


I can understand your point...BUT Relics are a guild/group venture(you have to create group to take relic) so why should they be any part of PvP? you cant make a group to attack another person PvP...why should the rewards of a guild/group venture benefit you in PvP then?

Then you can't use guild gear either. They belong to the guild, why should you be able to use them if you can't use guild relics either?

If you truly intend to make it player vs player, then every single bonus a guild gives, including guild gear, should be deactivated. NOT only relics.

I've bounty hunted when i was guildless before, and PvP'd In a guild with next to no structures and no relic ( the Guild still exists ;) and they do fine. * waves at KJ* and it IS fun :) Challenges in this game make things more fun.

But seriously. I understand...you guys like having 20% higher stats than everyone (before the over powered potions,etc) but is it really fair? especially now that the higher lvl ladders will be 100 lvls? how can you justify a 799 with 20% relics fair against a lvl 700 without?

and fyi I've done MANY of things without guild gear or 20% bonus's...


*edit* and yes I understand...work hard...get bonus's....but theres a point where hard work isnt enough....

Heh, yeah I still remember you clearing high leveled WK members when you were out of the guild before too. :P

The thing is, people take this 20% advantage too serious. Yes, it's a big bonus - but I ain't got no relics either, and I do fine. It's all about yourself, how you perform etc, not who has what. If you are smart enough to get around it, you won't even notice the 20% relic bonuses.
I don't.

And yes, 20% relic bonuses are as fair as using guild tagged gear in PvP.

KJ wants relics, they make a really fun aspect of this game :)

Would be sweet if they nerfed the bonuses drastically tho. Max 1-2% per relic or so, and maybe even make it one stat per relic.
