Sure there are some bugs in the game that can get annoying , but you are all playing a game that is meant to be fun , the way you and your lost friends are and have played the game is why it has lost it's fun factor for you.

People want to dominate titans ,dominate the arena, dominate pvp all these things come at a cost to other players,, how many of you would give up a titan kill to see more people playing the game or first place on your pvp ladder or an icon in the arena ?

Player greed is killing this game Hoof and his team are doing a great job people here need to remember they are not here to pander to your petty self interests .

+1
i play this game for fun.
oh and Hoof if your listening make some new left handed weapons pleeeaaaase LOL(around 425ish,, cos i dont know if i can level much higher)

I don't believe it is all greed, what you are talking about is Motivation and Player interaction.

SE didn't used to be only about greed, but a lot about beating other players to a loc, sweeping huge amounts of stam into it, how much has Malphas ever dropped? The drops were worth a bit, but even so not anywhere near the amount of hits needed to get one.

The difference of FS has always been the player interaction. Leave the game be, leave the players be, let people sort themselves and each other out a bit without always interfering from above.

Forum with player mods used to be a very lively interface, lot of direct player to player, these days you can't even mention someone's name unless it's praise on the accomplishments, and who ever looks there?

As OP says, clear up the bugs, get some basic events going, give players some leeway to express themselves again, cut down on report buttons and up on expressiveness.

This place used to be a village, some games, some brawls on the village green, in the pub, some big discussions in the community hall, some self appointed councillors, and kids could learn, and even old grandpa might kick a football every so often.

We now have a village green patrolled by cops, with everyone sitting on the benches, and most definitely not walk on the grass. Maybe feed the ducks every so often, with politically correct birdfood. And march all together on a straight path to the exit.

Surely way less interesting than watching a live community going about their businesses, whatever they are.

I know there isn't, but I'm beginning to think there is a language barrier between the majority of players which I assume is American and the English programmers and game providers. Do we speak the same language? Yes, but we don't seem to understand each other or else it's a matter one side or the other simply not wanting to. I see another guild mate's bio got wiped for no reason in my viewpoint. It had no threats or names in it so I guess they didn't like the tone. This kind of control will drive people away from the game. The void between the providers and players are growing day by day.

I don't know if this will make any difference here, but I am quitting the game. Mostly because I am bored with all of the major updates. The game has become to technical to play and far too easy in some parts. Too many aspects of the game have been ruined, just to "please" everyone. But it always ends up in a mess.

Far to many people have already left or been banned for that to turn around.

The community in the game started dying 2 years ago the moment the first titans were released when players like strykes or tt etc etc left he game ,we cannot change that but we sure as hell can hope HCS learned from it.
Some people made this game fun for others around them those people are few and far between now.

Your saying people did not hunt malphy to get a 300 fsp helm they could sell ?it was driven by greed as well. old style Legendarys were all about profiteering .And getting a mancrusha set to sell for 1200 pills.

Bring old school LE event's back. Caves are cool for players with money, but I remember not donating very much at all until my first LE event. that was an exciting day for me. I almost called in sick just to play. The LE events allowed all players to get a chance at getting a drop not just the players with money.

Player complained about the lag with LE events, they still complain now with nothing going on. bring them back already.

Yeah!

IMO for a major improvement to the game overall HCS need to connect with the Majority of their users and not just the Minority.

Hcs must realize the forum is a very small % of the players who play the game. The forum itself isn't the most welcoming of forums and its basically run by a small minority of players who make sure that their opinions are heard above all others. To see HCS come on the forum and change game details based on the opinion of a hand full of players is just wrong and the numbers point to that. I don't think live chats are suitable for everyone and Facebook is something not everyone bothers with.

For opinions place polls on the game. Players log in and are presented with the poll they cant continue until they answer the questions asked.

Please consider connecting with the majority of your user base for finding out what the majority would like to see happen in the game.

They did this once and apparently ignored the results of the poll.

Problem with polls is players will just ignore the answers and put randomness... and then only the forum players who want their opinion heard will put honest answers. The other players will want to get back to the game.

One of the better posts last days. I am also for stop tweaking the game. Make one final tweak if u need and stop there. Rotate arena and all other gear like others say. This drop rate of creatures is normal finally and I cant imagine how someone dont like it. Why u need to have best gear in the game? Why u need to have best LE or SE gear? Make fsps or donate and have it. Good job on introducing new SE-s. Once again this game is based on few major contents and u cant change it to often and still have a nice amount of players. Make something like last test server and get players a chance to test all improvements if u need to apply in the game. Also dont make game to much complicated in some parts, like to much buffs in the game.

Our intention is always to improve the game with the updates.

What would you most like to see improved?

1. Add content NOW, not Friday as you walk out the door (if we even get it then). Six weeks no matter what the reason is too long and there is absolutely no reason for it. And realistically it should be more than the normal 10 levels since it has been so long. After that add content at least every two weeks.(once again we saw the Friday release is a horrible idea)
2. Finish whatever needs finishing with your new map. I understand this is your baby and it sounds like it will be a good thing for the game, but the rest of the game can not come to a stand still during it's creation.
3. Update the image packs, Ultimate FS Guide, etc. You know...all the stuff that we have been told would be done multiple times.
4. Leave PvP alone!! Good or bad, every change you make never has a chance since another change is made a week later. Take a couple of months off and see where it is at. If it needs tweaked after that, then by all means have at it.(so far so good)
5. Fix all the coding bugs that have been reported in tickets and here on the forum. Take it one at a time and work your way through all of them. No big changes, just fix what is already there.
6. Rotate the items in the Arena and fix what should be a good gold sink. This should be done on a regular basis without us saying a word and can't be that hard of a thing to do.
7. After the new map is up and running have an old school LE to kick the tires a little and see how it goes.
8. Release critters in the caves on a regular basis. With the new FI%'s the market should not get flooded and it would be a great gold sink once again.
9. LEAVE THE GAME ALONE!! This should leave plenty of time for content, image packs, Ultimate FS Guide, bug fixing, and LE's. The arena and caves shouldn't take much time as everything needed is already in the game.

All that we need for this to be a great game again is already there. There just needs to be an effort by HCS to stand behind and follow up on the changes and implementations that they have already made. I am sure I missed some little things in my list, but you get the general idea. We don't need any more high level pots, we don't need any more sets, just sit back and let the game heal itself. With the new FI%'s the AH should slowly fix itself. With the gold sinks listed above, the marketplace will slowly fix itself.

And for HCS...As the game heals itself current players will start to care again, new players will find it more enjoyable, and just maybe those that have left us will find their way back to bask in the greatness that once was Fallen Sword...which will mean more donations, because we all understand that money is and always will be the bottom line.

Any thoughts HCS? You actually have a general agreement on the forum (which is rare) since asking for our opinions , but have not been heard from since. I know this is standard practice, but can you please for once have some interaction with us after asking us for our opinions?

Yes I would like to see a response as well... For once you have a general consensus that we would like you to step back and let the game be for a while. Improvements to the game become problematic when the developers ignore existing issues with coding and other elements that should be looked to first.

Personally I believe that new upper content is required and should be a priority. You just can't leave a number of players stranded and unable to continue leveling and playing new areas. What I would suggest is that the levels and quests should perhaps be built to be more time consuming and complex. Hopefully that will then build in marginal time for the planning and coding of new areas to come.

At the other end of the scale, that tutorial seriously needs to be looked at, and I think tweaks should be made to the entry levels. Some of us are of an age to remember this type of game and how the interface works (or doesn't work in some cases!). The younger crowds are used to a more elemental graphical interface than this, so I think you do need more instruction. And please start them off with more BP space. My recent experience on the alpha proved that to be a most frustrating thing, and going from 3 to 5 should not have an economic impact either in-game or out. Another player mentioned that the entire first level is not linear at all, and that actually does lead to confusion of where you should go and how to get there, so again more instruction sets and help files please.

You have had countless requests for a return to the old style LE events. In fact, I think there has been more requests for this than the changes to PvP, which you did implement. So why is there a problem with an LE event? And if lag is actually the issue then again you need to seriously look at coding and server loads.

Please do not think I don't appreciate the effort put into the new developments, and I do think the new mapping feature will be a brilliant improvement overall to the game. That being said, I also agree with a previous poster in that you do tend to listen to a small percent of players, or at least that is how it appears to be. This simply does not make good business sense (at least to me)... and you really have better things to be doing.

Want more players.... how about also developing a better marketing strategy than facebook?? You are on the lists for MMORPGs, but usually far down. So work on getting the game mentioned more... and work on existing problems before introducing new ones....

was my .02 cents... sorta developed into .05 ah well...

well i guess that's where we may differ.... i think they do need to step back a minute and let things settle before adding new stuff, but i do have faith in this game. i think the Cows are quite responsive to player suggestion (Can you imagine EA doing the same??) Its just that a lot of times we as end users are not privy to their "whole" picture view. So sometimes we really do get the wrong end of the stick....

It goes a lot further than putting a band aid on things though. How hard would it be to put legendary creatures in the caves once per week? People might whine about what creature is there, but at least it's something different and keeps the game healthy. What about rotating the arena? I can't imagine that would take more than a few minutes to toggle things on/off. And what about making a few posts every day on the forum? This at least lets people know that you are listening rather than having them constantly bump up threads in the hopes that you might randomly see it.

None of these would take a considerable amount of time, and they're all rather minor things. Sometimes it's the little things that really add up and make a game worth playing.

Exactly. We were asked what we wanted...we came to a basic agreement as a whole...and got no response besides there are updates coming a week later. Saying that you agree, disagree, love, hate, whatever the ideas brought up by your players would be great. And I agree most of what was brought up should be easily accomplished. It's all there in the game already.

LOL - That band aid needed a new band aid only 4 days later...and supposedly needs another one again. Been 5 days since the flawed tagging update. Seems plenty of time to fix at least one area of the game that has been discussed here...
