well I just tried a return hit on the person who is leading my bracket with well more pvp points then me and found I was way off on 3 hits to get the same amt of points....

You were defeated by xxxx in combat. [ View Combat ] [ Reply | Trade | ST | Buff ]
XP stolen:331,611 Gold lost:1,158 Gold stolen:869 PvP change:19

return hit

You were victorious over xxx in combat. [ View Combat ] [ Reply | Trade | ST | Buff ]
XP stolen:250,501 Gold lost:531 Gold stolen:399 Prestige gain:10 PvP change:3

So he had more points then me when he hit lowering his normal transfer, and he was well above me in points when I returned the hit...

Because there is a 70 level gap it takes me a min of 6 hits to get my initial loss, and if I would have had more points then him initially it would be even more....I guess if this is what is suppose to be fair I mine as well opt out or quit trying pvp like everyone else as there is no point in trying with these odds

This is the biggest reason I decided to opt out after a round on the ladder. Seriously it's a joke. I always make a point to return ladder hits but I simply can't compete if I'm only getting back a small fraction of the rating I lose. A single loss on my part and I have to spend hours getting back up on my feet, and even then I'm forced to farm the same few people over and over again for petty rating. I can understand why rating transfer should be related to level differences but it needs to be adjusted so at least there can be fairer rating exchanges between combats involving the same people. As the way it stands right now, it's turning me off the ladder completely.

As for BB dying, you just need to give people more reasons to hit others. Increasing % of gold taken can make a big difference, now that you've removed rating from normal PvP hits, gold is pretty much the only incentive left.

Hoof knows the problem, he just has to fix it..and sooner the better..more players playing the ladder is needed. Some argue that level difference should equate to rating difference,But in my opinion...the ladder is skilled players with gear, buffs etc..smashing other skilled players. You opt in KNOWING you will be facing a challenge higher or lower leveled then you.

Everyone knows how to beat sets.If its a bit more difficult?good! Should difficulty equate to an advantage in rating gain and loss?Heck no. You pvp for fun and challenge.ANY set can be beat..especially unbuffed or offline,an the way this transfer rate is now.. its dissuading higher level players from competing in their brackets. Balance everything.. gold,xp and rating. RJEM has suggested a great idea. All that has to happen is implement it. BASE rating loss.. on rating difference!NOT level difference!

I got 4th in my ladder for being hit. I did not make a single attack.

[sarcasm]Seems like a lot of people are opted in.[/sarcasm]

"let slip the dogs of war" Return PVP to the game.
Remove the stops, Remove the limits, Let bullies reap what they sow, Allow for massive deleveling as a tool to help keep those that abuse the fair jousting of Ladder in check. The ladder opt out is great, but there are literally 2 different pvp systems now present in the game the old school pvp players long for those old days again. I believe the thought process is backwards on the ladder ranges the higher you go the tighter they should get. I am still not convinced that the VL has been a great addition to the game if your deleveled you should loose the advantage of everything that goes with the gains you've made or subsequently lost . The continued ability of those that would bully for kicks can be controlled if they are threatened with character damage/destruction and are forced to level their gains back.

EOC is also a problem all the big fish are at the end of the pond waiting to take of in a foot race like mad men to the next EOC LOL. So they sit there either playing the ladder or finding players to hit for no good reason.

Leveling also has seemingly become to easy adding quests and mazes and difficulties in maps has not been very popular as I see it also hasn't slowed the leveling progress. Just making the levels harder to achieve by making them longer to traverse (Greater XP Gained to make the next level) may be a solution but I am not sure seems the higher you go it should be harder to achieve the next level. The new content releases have been to few and far between so those sitting there waiting are just making points and smacking people around waiting to race to the next EOC. Tweak the xp needed to gain the next level so each one gets progressively harder to achieve or just add the next 10000 levels. How do you slow the pace down?? Or is that wrong to do?

Maybe the oldschool approach to pvp is important..you behave in pvp or loose your ass so your not just sitting at VL at EOC only having lost a pittance in level that are too easy to regain.

PLEASE CHANGE ATTACK PLAYER LIST!!!

I can find everyone in my ladder on the pvp screen

And I can choose opted in on find player

attack player was one tool I used for gold hits,,,more gold hits more bountys

And I agree with hoof,,,in a couple weeks the board will liven up again. I take 4 hits on ladder and sit for a hour looking for gold hits. Im sure that will become a bad habit of a lot of us very quickly.

SO! Support the game and buy pvp protection!!

Give it a few weeks for the changes to settle in - I feel the changes to the PvP Ladder are better for the game as a whole.

SOMEONE GIVE THE BOUNTY BOARD CPR !!! IT'S FLAT LINING !

So for many ladders now people are being rewarded simply for being hit, The BB is still dead and fewer people are opting in, This was a grand fix! On a good note I can now hit my entire +-10 range and for that I am happy.....
